Above is the art of our recent ammonite girl as well as two character wips for this week. The first is a feral monster girl since she won our last poll. I’m thinking about giving her elf/demon ears- thoughts? 🤔 The second is a motherly kitsune 🦊 Why you ask? Well, you need to get cleansed of all the catgirl brainrot from the last YouTube audio, right? :P
I know I have quite a few new Ali cats here and wanted to say welcome! ❤️ I mentioned this in my last ramble but we like to keep it chill here, so feel free to join in with conversations if you like 😊 And on that note, it’s been a bit since I’ve done a question of the week! I don’t think I’ve asked this one before surprisingly: Who is your favorite Pokemon? ✨ Mine is obviously Mimikyu! 💕
Lastly, my song recommendation this week is “Pink Blood” by Hikaru Utada. This was featured on an anime so some of you may know it already~ I think the lyrics are so gorgeous and I like to revisit it from time to time. As usual feel free to post what you’ve been listening to also! :)

But shhh…don’t tell anyone it was accidental 👀 lol Heyyy, Mimikyu gang ftw!! Eevee is a big favorite of mine too. I remember seeing some cute art a while back of Mimikyu but his little outfit was patched as an Eevee >w<

Or I’m so sleep deprived I’m creating false memories haha! 🤣 I feel silly because I had to look up HTTYD lol. Once I saw what it was I got happy because I loved the original- it was so cute! I’m glad to hear you enjoyed it :D So I take it was pretty good? I’m always iffy with live actions and I blame anime for that lol. As for the song rec, yes, it was the ending for To Your Eternity :D I never finished the anime since I was busy with life at the time, but from what I remember it was very good. For music though, honestly all of Hikaru’s songs are fire so that’s just a given :P I see what you mean about her expression, maybe I’ll play around with her eyes a bit more just to see! I don’t want to give away too much (I hate spoiling stuff haha!) but the vibe I’m going for is cute and creepy. So kinda like that innocent, childlike personality with animalistic undertones if that makes sense. I do appreciate the feedback and we shall see what ends up happening ;D

A year ago my ex made me this beautiful painting of Mimikyu and Eevee bonding together with hearts around them, and ever since they've both been my favorite (I just think they're so adorable <3 )

There are a lot of Pokemon that have designs that look like they belong in a ruin, or give off the impression of being unknowably inorganic, and I love most of them, but Big Bell Boy is my favorite out of all of them. It might be something about how Steel/Psychic designs overlap sometimes ‘cause I also like Metagross a lot lol. - - - - Hope your weekend ended up well, too ^^ For me, I went and saw the new HTTYD live action remake with some buds, and had a great time. At points it kinda felt like I just paid money to go see the original in theaters again, not too much new; but like, I’m also very happy to spend money to go see the original in theaters again, you know? 🤣 You see it, either this one or the original? - - - - Haven’t heard this week’s song rec before but I kinda can get behind it. Hard to get in the groove to; but the lyrics are compelling. They give the impression of a brighter future but coming from a place of sorrow, and so I can’t really tell if I think they’re more happy or sad. Is it the ED for whichever anime it showed in? It has big ED energy to me. I’ve been listening to the HTTYD soundtrack more than anything so I dun have any interesting new bands or lyric songs to share this week, but If you like orchestral music I could absolutely recommend the soundtrack! Especially “This is Berk” and “Test Drive” from the original movie. The former walks you through, like, every musical motif you’re gonna hear in the movie in a real natural way, and the latter is just the best *possible* rendition of the two main characters’ themes mixed together. - - - - - The WIP arts look brilliant! Kinda incredibly how different the energy between the two of them is, too. Even without you telling us I’d have said that kitsune earns the motherly title, and then the feral girl looks like she has no idea what’s going on but she’s here to find out 🤣😭 Sharp ears on the feral girl would fit super well, I think! I know they get associated with elves in a lot of media, but they feel like they fit good on most supernatural species, especially when you want to emphasize their not-human-ness. (Fun fact, that’s originally how pointed ears worked in a lot of pre-Tolkien fairy tales, too, it didn’t originate as a strictly elven trait.) One thing I would say is that she doesn’t look *feral* to me right now, so much, as much as she looks like she’s just really surprised at something that you just said. Or maybe a little bit like you just pointed out a gaff she made about common sense society and she’s trying to not be embarrassed, like she’s about to say “haha I knew that, I was only pretending to be dumb!” 😂 …I think if her irises were a bit smaller, it might emphasize a sort of not-completely-rational nature, or make her feel a bit more wild. Not sure what else if anything I’d change though, hard to say anything too drastic about a baseline drawing as cute as she is.
