What's the saying, "the best time to make a change was 10 years ago, the second best time is now" I changed my perspective to focus on smaller attainable goals because I don't want to disappoint myself by making excuses for a lifestyle change. If I'm making a big change, I have to start right away, not at a certain time. Personally, I don't really think the romhack will ever happen lol But I want to use something I like (pokemon) as a vehicle to create a story that is entirely my own. Just writing even a little bit of my ideas about it would make me happy. And yeah, I'm sure I'll share some of it one day. No point in keeping it to myself. Yesterday at the store I saw a sketchbook. Yeah I bought it along with some pencils. I'm practicing lines and shapes over the next day or two lol I won't call this a resolution, but more of a side quest. I'm pretty excited about it.

2025-01-02 12:23:32 +0000 UTCHey, you’re coming in here with one of my favorite sayings! I always love telling people that whenever they’ve expressed that they missed out of that it’s too late. I’m a believer that it’s never too late. New years or not it’s never a wrong time to make positive change :D I also relate to your feeling of guilt more than I let on. I too have a terrible habit of not being able to fully relax and just enjoy things. I have thoughts of “you should be doing this instead” and like you mentioned, it does nothing but bring stress. I’m not sure if this will help but just remember that we all deserve happiness and moments of relaxation. One personal example is that I know if I don’t take those times to read, play games, or watch something I won’t feel inspired to write or draw. Seeing and consuming things we enjoy can help with motivation and ideas. So it’s definitely not being lazy or wasting time if you think of it in that way! :)

I used to be against them as I never thought we needed a specific time to make change. I still believe that but the sentiment of new years is a nice thing and I’ve come to enjoy it ❤️ But seriously, to anyone reading: it’s never too late to make positive changes. Even if you slip up you can always get up and try again! I hope 2025 is a good year for you Moy. Taking my health more seriously is something I can also relate to as a 90s kid. Making a romhack sounds like it would be so much fun too! I’d definitely be down for reading your ideas if you ever posted or shared them. I’ve never had the opportunity to play one but always wanted to! I’ve had coworkers from previous jobs that I’ve switched shifts with for similar reasons. That’s very kind of you to do that! I can also understand the sentiment of New Year’s resolutions. I used to be against making them as I believe it’s always a good time to make change. It doesn’t have to be at a certain time so long as it improves our lives in some way. I also don’t think people should be too hard on themselves if they slip up either. It’s never too late to get back up and try again ^_^ I wish you all the best with your goals, I know you can do it! Doing things for fun can definitely make it more difficult to stay consistent but you got this. I don't think I've said this before, but I actually remember first checking out your Patreon when you were originally getting things going. My only regret is that I didn't join then. You know what they say..."The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The next best time is today." I'll just have to take satisfaction in eventually coming to my senses :P All your goals sound very attainable. I hear that's important! I feel like I'm pretty bad at resolutions, honestly. I'd like to make it a point to enjoy life more without feeling guilty, I guess. I have a bad habit of always thinking there's something I need to be doing instead of relaxing :l Turns out that sort of mentality makes both kinds of activities stressful.

I've been going through some of your older stuff lately, they're so fun. Both the new work and the old are awesome. I'm excited for everything you have to offer in 2025 :) I was wondering if you would ask this, I'm glad you did. I really admire your dedication to improving your craft. Your passion shines through in your work. I used to hate New Years Resolutions. The last few years I changed my perspective on them, I set myself some small but attainable goals. So here are mine: 1) Take health more seriously. I already think I take care of myself, but I'm a 90's kid, not getting any younger so I want to get a little healthier. 2) Get a part time job in the summer. I don't work in the summer, but I still get paid. I like to travel so I think getting a small job would help fund my next trip without cutting into my regular budget or free time. 3) I've always wanted to make a Pokemon romhack but I don't have the skill set :P (yet?) But I've had some ideas for a story for a couple years now, so I want to get some of that in writing. I think it could also be a fun little mental and creative exercise. Random thought: I was at the dentist yesterday and your 'Ash in the Void' comic popped in my head. I don't think they liked that I told them to stop so I could laugh lol

I’m currently playing Skyrim (I’ve never played and I’m addicted) and drinking crown royal I’ve never really been one for resolutions but this year I want to workout to try and be healthier as well as find a new hobby that doesn’t cost me a ton of money (for example I love pokemon cards and funko pops but they can be pricey 😅). I used to play music and draw/doodle so maybe I’ll get back into those :)

I'll be on duty myself, (As is my usual haha~ As a seasoned Shadowcat I always try to work these sorts of shifts so the guys with families can get leave. x3) What are you drinking / playing? As for 'resolutions', I suppose I haven't given it much thought. I tend not to, considering how flimsy the whole 'new years' sentiment tends to be. Cultivating good habits and goals requires a good deal more discipline and personal accountability than most people give credit for... I hope you and all the Ali Cats can dig deep and find the drive to make your dreams real this year. ♡ If I had to put something out there, really it would just be a continuation of my ongoing tasks. I've been trying to get myself into the tattoo shop every other month to fill out the last of my pieces. 2024 finally saw the addition of my Brand of Sacrifice and Purity Seals, but I've got a lot of space left to fill. :p I also would like to attempt being more consistent with my own streaming/content. It's often pushed to the wayside due to my commitment to my work (particularly since, as an instructor, I dedicate a lot of time to keeping myself proficient so that I can competently pass the skills to others.), and since I run my channel purely for funsies without any real intention of ever 'getting big' or drawing revenue from it, putting it off is all too easy. xD Time will tell~ One way or the other, all my best goes out to everyone here. Was already told in my high school days by my art teacher that doubled as a free lance comic artist that unless you wanna draw the same super heroes established in DC or Marvel, you're better off going indie in the western space. So, for now, I mostly wanna figure my own stuff out and see what avenues are worth putting myself into (even webtoon if necessary).
