Ash in the Void - “Anime Experience”

Here’s my third chapter of my little comic “Ash in the Void!” 🐙 Ash can’t be the only one that feels like this sometimes, right? XD To be fair, this anime season has been an exception! Lots of good series are out right now ✨

You did say Ash was based off you after all haha

I can relate to looking edgy for the sake of it and just chillin’ at home haha! XD

alichu

Yeah most anime these days seem like isekai wish-fulfillment for lonely dudes lol, also I love the dichotomy between Ash looking like this ultimate edgy death lord but she just hangs around doing normal stuff lol

Secular Succotash

I'm looking forward to season 2 if it comes out lol left on a nice cliffhanger

I watched a bit of Sasaki & Peeps. I stopped watching because it was around the time I was moving and I completely forgot about it haha! I’ll need to go back and restart it :)

alichu

Thanks Verrick! I can definitely relate to that- long day at work, next day off, spend it watching anime with snacks! ❤️ ✨

For a good while there I did feel like it was the anime experience. I swear every anime was an isekai and even more so with a super long title name haha! XD The two characters at the bottom are Edward and Alphonse from FullMetal Alchemist! Of course I’m referencing the 2003 version hehe :P

🤣 🤣 🤣

Ong!! Preach!

No harem or anything like that, nice break from the typical isekais lol and Mushoku Tensei is a favorite! Only been watching the anime myself though. Wouldn't mind more reverse isekais though where someone comes to our world from a medieval fantasy world, Sasaki & Peeps was somewhat a reverse isekai. And yes! That was great! Zom 100 wasn't too bad either, but I think the multi month hiatus may have killed the chances of getting a second season..

Oh man, I loved March Comes in Like a Lion! I really hope they finish the anime because it definitely deserves it. Some great music in that one too!

alichu

HELL YEAH!! 👏 👏 🏆

alichu

I haven’t tried The Wrong Way to Use Healing Magic yet, I’ll have to check it out! The only Isekai I’m enjoying right now is Mushoku Tensei. Some people hate on it but the light novels are very good and for the most part the anime has been following it very well! I also agree on more zombie apocalypse animes! I loved High School of the Dead :P

alichu

It’s rough when an anime never got the final season it deserved. I’ve never seen it myself but sorry to hear that happened with Infinite Stratos RIP 🙏 I loved that older animes were pretty good at wrapping things up. I know there are some exceptions to that but for the most part they felt very satisfying when finishing!

alichu

Heck yeah, Cowboy Bebop FTW! I love rewatching that one :)

alichu

Ha, good comic, and well drawn! It is definitely my happy place after a long day at work where my brain has turned to mush to spend the evening relaxing watching whatever anime I can find (isekai or otherwise lol - I don't like rewatching, so beggars can't be choosers)

Verrick

It's more of an Isekai experience rather than a anime experience. I will say though the texts on there does remind me how youtube videos just keep their thumbnail description like that. The middle one kinda has me reminded of that one I watched on there which was Chillin in another World as a Level 2. I definitely get Ash about the snacks and nice and comfy in a blanket. I can just get so comfy that I just get that face expression where I'm to relaxed about it. Also, what are those two characters down there supposed to represent when you drew this. (Or to put it simply, is there a certain character from an anime of yours that you tried to draw on there or is it just something random?)

isekai anime’s are the eastern cousin of hallmark movies

It breaks my heart to see all these anime get adaptations when there are so many that deserve sequels. I've been waiting for years for a season 3 of March Comes In Like a Lion. I don't rewatch shows very often. There's a sea of stuff I haven't watched so I usually try something new. I found a recommendation generator a few weeks back that can be linked to a MAL account, so I used that and played with the filters until I got something interesting.

Need to watch more boomer anime. Back in the day we didn't have any of this waifu smut. We had manly men, historical drama, and science fiction!

cloudberrybob

Yea... Isekai used to be my favorite genre, but it's all the same, guy goes to a new world, gets a harem, or gets vilified by their friends, the only recent ones that have been different are The Wrong Way to Use Healing Magic, and a couple others lol. So I'll just go back to the classics every now and then. There needs to be more zombie apocalypse animes though!

Delta

Yeah I've had moments where I can't find a new anime to indulge myself, even with ones that I fawn over like Infinite Stratos or In Another World with my Smartphone. All great animes and oddly ones that I can never seem to get bored with. Although, it's a shame when one of your [my] favorite animes was discontinued and left on a crazy cliffhanger.... RIP Infinite Stratos. Oh what memories you've brought before me on my anime journey....

itssimic

Call me a sucker for nostalgia, but there are only a few isekai series that I can get into. Time to watch Cowboy Bebop again for the 50th time!
