valentine's day, QOTW & next week's character! :)

I drew you all a valentine's doodle- consider it my invitation to the ramble I'll be doing on the 14th :P While I was drawing this I thought, "what if inside the letter it just said 'hey' with a smiley face" lmao. My plan for Valentine's Day is to read, drink wine and eat chocolate! I thought it would be fun to ramble about anime/manga and just whatever comes to mind :) I might get that gross heart shaped box chocolate for the giggles because we all know the chocolate in those tend to be disgusting lol. I don't really drink wine so wish me luck picking one out at the grocery store today xD

No poll for next week's character because I have one I really want to do. I'll give you a one word hint: emo. This Friday will be a wererabbit which was really fun to draw! The story is a little funny and sweet so I hope you all enjoy it :)

Question of the week is one I saw on Twitter earlier and I thought it was funny. What's a movie/show you look back on and realize you probably watched way too young? It could be because it was scary or for whatever reason! The first movie that pops into my head is Austin Powers lol. I definitely saw those movies earlier than I should have but damn they were funny.

Good luck! Seems like it may have been more difficult than I expected

JokermanTalon

I've been searching so many reddit threads and I still have nothing. This is going to bug the hell out of me now lol. My Dad worked for a computer company back in the day so he would get random game demos- it could have been one of those. I'm going to keep looking though!

alichu

Let me know if you ever find it! I'm invested in learning what it is now lol.

JokermanTalon

I had a friend in High School who was obsessed with Dr. Who! She tried explaining it to me and tried her damndest to get me to watch it lol. I tried a little of whatever the newest one was at the time, and it was cool from what I remember. I just felt so out of the loop though that it discouraged me from watching more ; o ; Knowing how long running that series is I can only imagine there's a few good scary episodes in there! I've never heard of Conflict Desert Storm but looking at it reminds me of this old army soldier game I used to play as a kid that was pretty violent lol xD

alichu

Oh no, it looks like I'm going to be taking a little trip down the reddit rabbit hole for this lol. I looked up The Suffering, but I don't think that was it. I wish I had more key words to describe it but that's all I have unfortunately- I appreciate your guess though, thank you!

alichu

It was one called Cupcake and the flavor was red velvet! Despite the silly name is tasted pretty good which kinda shocked me xD My mom has a very similar experience to what you're describing with the old Child's Play movie. Even though she was older when she watched it, the thought still terrifies her despite being able to see the comedy in the movie now lol.

alichu

What wine did you end up getting? And yea!! Something I found out with even straight liquor that it tastes so good with a bit of good chocolate! Lol And lol, idk if my parents thought "hey, it's an older movie, it shouldn't be bad for a 6 year old" or not, but that is a movie where the practical effects still hold up very well today!! Lol I still have vivid memories of those nightmares too!!

Delta

Ahh, the cybermen were always one of my favourites, I used to hate the angels, but less so nowadays. Autons and that one episode from 2011 with the peg dolls though? Never again.

ProzXADYN

Doctor Who is a good one! I should've mentioned that one, I remember having my older cousin let me borrow his Dr Who DVD's (David Tennant era) back when I was 6-7 years old. The cybermen always frightened me and yet kept drawing me back in. lol

Artilleries

I'm not really 100% sure Ali. I would want to say that it's "The Suffering" but I don't think its immediately apparent that you are on an island at the start of that game since you are in a prison. A lot of the other details seem to match up though. Not sure if that was it but it's the first thing that comes to mind

JokermanTalon

Yeah Antoni, a lot of my friends were also playing it at the time as well lol. I don't think any of us really understood most of the more adult things in it

JokermanTalon

Yes Skel! I really love those movies still to this day.

JokermanTalon

There's a whole shedload of films and shows that watching back now I see all the adult puns in them, my parents used to chuckle at them all too, which I'd never understand until nowadays. If we're talking something scary however, I'd have to go with Dr Who. I had a mate who used to show me clips all the time, and my cousin was also very into the show, but that show is part of the reason I have a fear of dolls and mannequins now lol. Seeing as others have also mentioned video games, my parents were pretty strict in that regard, the only game I ever played that was rated above my age was an Xbox game called Conflict Desert Storm. As for the artwork, I think it's very cute, I look forward to seeing what you've got for todays ramble!

ProzXADYN

Thanks Antoni, I had a lot of fun with the ramble! I technically recorded most of it on Valentine's Day- granted it was just REALLY early in the morning. Funny enough I'm getting it ready as I type this lol. I was thinking about it, and I decided to stay up and record so people in different time zones could enjoy the ramble too on Valentine's Day. I'm down for napping during the day though since I'm off today anyway :P I think I remember playing some of the old COD back in the day with my dad- he was really into those games. Granted I was terrible at them as I've never been good at FPS games xD

alichu

Or it would be the most liked and Skelly takes my job :P

alichu

I'm happy to know I wasn't the only person to do that with notes! And yes, I'm summoning my fellow emos with next week's character :P Going off your comment your Dad and mine seem similar. He too watched and enjoyed weird stuff- Mars Attack being one such movie. I know it was meant to be a comedy but as a kid I was so disturbed by how they looked lol. Funny you mentioned Constantine. I literally rewatched that movie just a couple of weeks ago. Why? Because Keanu that's why. I need no other reason!

alichu

Hey there Yagi, it's good to hear from you and I'm happy to hear you're doing well! :) I'm happy you enjoyed the card opening and recent audios too. I didn't get any reese's chocolate but talking about it is making me want some lol xD To be fair there's something about the eggs during Easter that just taste better. I'm not sure if they do something different with those but I'm getting some for sure come that time! I don't think I've ever seen the Krampus movie but knowing what Krampus is, I'm sure it was scary to watch at a young age for sure!

alichu

While I've never played any GTA games myself God knows I've seen a lot of other people play it! lol. Similar to you it seems a lot of people played it way too young xD Your comment made me remember something so apologies if this gets too long. Maybe you can help me remember it though since you've played a lot of games. I've been trying to remember this scary game I played too young as a kid. My dad would always get these random ass computer games that I would end up playing so we're talking late 90's early 2000s. I remember you were some dude that started out on an island with just a knife. You killed people and ended up exploring caves or weird buildings which had monsters to kill too (lots of jump scares). For the life of me I can't remember what it is. Not sure if you'll know but I figured you'd be the person to ask!

alichu

I've never seen this movie but I looked it up and it seems something up my alley (no pun intended lol). I'll see if I can find somewhere to watch it! :)

alichu

At the time it was a hilarious parody to my siblings and I XD. Hope you enjoy your wine choice.

Kai Zomei

I don't think I've ever seen Spaceballs but after looking it up I can see it being something that may not have been good for someone too young haha! xD Thanks for the wine recommendation too, Kai! I ended up getting some sort of red wine but if I ever get some again I'll see about Moscato ^_^

alichu

I just finished drinking some of the wine a bit ago and it was pretty good! I was shocked since I wasn't expecting to like it very much lol. I think drinking it with the chocolate helped :P I can definitely see that movie giving you nightmares back then for sure. If I watched it at that age I would have been terrified also lol. Something about the old scary movies hit different- not sure if it was the technology or what but I like it!

alichu

The only drink I enjoy that uses vodka are the smirnoff ice ones- mainly the watermelon flavor. I'm hoping that I enjoy the wine I bought. I kinda went based on how the bottle looked so we'll see. Probably not the best way to judge a wine to buy but hey, it was pretty! Goldmember is by far my favorite Austin Powers movie. Funny enough that was the first one I saw as a kid too and then I went back and watched the others. I still find myself saying, "How about no!" to my friends lmao xD

alichu

Thank you, I hope you have a good one too! :D

alichu

That would be kinda funny, you expect Alichu's voice but instead you get me, granted it would be the most disliked video but I'd giggle.

Sir Skelington

This art is so cuteee πŸ₯° thanks Ali for this! I hope you'll enjoy the wine and chocolates as well as rambling to us. Hmm, the only movie(s) that comes to mind for that question were the early Fast & Furious movies. However, video games dominate in that regard; me playing stuff like Call Of Duty as early as 5 years of age - I believe COD Big Red One was my first one.

Artilleries

Confirmed. Skelly is gonna voice this next one, I'm down for that.

Artilleries

GTA San Andreas was everyone's game they were too young for back in the day! XD

Artilleries

Well at least you got started early on some good movies.

Sir Skelington

The Thing Ah someone of culture.

Sir Skelington

"Emo" I was summoned? When I was young me and my friends would pass each other notes that literally only said "hey". When it came to movies my dad would just watch whatever he wanted and I'd sit right there, so most movies I watched were too adult for me back then. There were a few however that did mess me up for a good while, I always remember watching Constantine when I was young and being terrified. Rewatching it, now I'm just like oh that's kinda cool. Also Mars Attacks is a weird movie for weird people and my dad is one of those people, he still gives me crap for that one.

Sir Skelington

Hey Ali I'm doing good. I'm actually getting into a position to where I'm able to comment again. I hope you to have a great valentines day and will encourage you eat recesses peanut butter cups instead of the disgusting dark chocolate heart candies. But I cannot stop you off course. Though I must state again thanks for the asmr as always it's always been a great help. Also had some fun watching you open the card pack to I suppose. One movie I watched that I probably shouldn't have. Was a movie called krampus which was a horror movie I was 8 and got scared shitless going to sleep watching the movie. But I do hope you have a great week and weekend.

Yaginsail

For movies it was probably Aliens and Starship Troopers, I don't even know if they are that bad to watch as a kid per say but there is so much that flew over my head as a kid. I think there is also nudity in Starship Troopers so there's also that lol. However for games I have worse(?) experiences. As a kid, maybe 4 or 5 years old, i saw my cousins playing Resident Evil 1 and it scared me so bad that I couldn't even play Left 4 Dead around when it came out and I was 11 or 12 years old by then! And Left 4 Dead is one of the most tame zombie games ever! My second most notable experience would probably be playing all of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas when I was in second grade. For obvious reasons, that's probably a bit too young for someone due to all the adult content in it lol.

JokermanTalon

I was just a little bit too young to watch Makoto Shinkai's garden of words. It's a film about adulthood, so obviously 16 year old me was just bored and confused watching it. I'm able to relate to the characters a lot more rewatching it as an adult.

cloudberrybob

I'm gonna say Space Balls was a movie I watched too young. Thinking back, I'm kinda surprised my parents let us rent and watch such a movie all those years ago. Look forward to the ramble. If you're not mich a wine drinker, a sweet wine like Moscato might be preferable.

Kai Zomei

Ok, that art is just too adorable! Lol and good luck with the wine choice! I can't stand it myself lol Can't wait for the audios btw! And as for your question ..yeeaa.. probably watched Austin Powers a bit too young myself, but nah.. that ain't it.. my parents let my watch the '80s version of The Thing when I was about 6... that gave me nightmares for months! Horrible nightmares where my family and pets turned into those monstrosities! Funny thing is though, it is hands down my favorite horror monster movie today! Lol

Delta

I would've thought it would've been you holding a letter, roses, and a heart box of chocolates but that letter is still fine, even if it's just a smiley face and such. Though now that you're just about to go back and drink wine again, I thought I should probably have something of vodka or something since it's been a while since I had something alcoholic. I gotta agree, I felt way too young to watch Ausin Powers but I mainly watched it due to my older brother telling me about the adult humor in it. Out of all the movies they've made, I can't make up my mind on which one I like more, but I more or less think Goldmember or whatever it's called is probably my favorite since it's the first one I watched. Even then, I felt like watching it before made everything better whenever I'd just see some random short bald man everyday reminding me of Dr. Evil.

BloodyAzazel

Oooh I'm so excited!!! I hope your valentines day goes great!
