Mosquito girl art and other stuff! :)

Happy Saturday everyone, I hope your weekend is going well so far and all of you find some time to relax :) Here's the art of our recent hell spawn- I mean, mosquito lol.

I wanted to take a second to give a welcome to some new patrons! Don't feel pressured to comment, but I wanted to give my thanks and a hello! We have fun conversations here so feel free to jump in as you see fit ^_^

As usual, feel free to post your song recommendations this week. It doesn't need to be a certain genre either- post whatever music you like. Mine this week is "Spirit- The Killers". I've always been a big fan of this band (yes, I'm one of those people that know Mr. Brightside and When You Were Young by heart) lol.

Mosquito girl art and other stuff! :)

I didn't know The Killers were still making music either, so I was shocked when a new song played on Sirius radio when I was heading to work! Maybe I'll still like some of their newer stuff too so I'll have to give it a shot and we'll see :D The robot story is sad! Kinda makes me think of Faputa in Made in Abyss with the robot that wanted to protect her ; o ; Stories like that always pull at my heartstrings lol.

I actually read the comments on Spirit Ali and it seems like not all of their newer stuff is like their old stuff. I am interested to look up what all their newer songs are like though. I didn't even know they were still making music. If you saw gameplay it's technically them and also not lol. The little girl is actually named Delilah. I am not sure if the robot bed has a name tbh. Lore explanation if you want context (I don't expect you to read this unless you really want lol): When you play as the character "Bedman?" in Strive it's both the robot and the little girl but in terms of name it's actually neither of them. In the old games there was a villain named Bedman that used the robot bedframe to protect his sister. He died in the prior game though and so now the robot is trying it's best to protect his sister on it's own. That is the reason it has the question mark at the end of the name too if you were wondering about that. The trailer for the character also provides a bit of context if it's something you're interested in as well: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k-KCh2HBIa8

Glad you liked it Antoni! If you read a lot of my comments you might know that I adore the songs from the Guilty Gear Franchise. However, I actually didn't like most of them the first time I heard them lol. But they always end up growing on me. So if you liked even some of it, then that's good to hear!

That guy's singing though, I love it! Really enjoyed the video too, I've always been a fan of watching people dance :) Similar to Antoni, I had to listen to another song by them because the name was familiar to me. Time Is Running Out reminded me :P

I thought the same thing when I first heard spirit! It had been a while since I last heard anything from The Killers, so I was pleasantly surprised they still sounded exactly as I remembered them :) The Circle was a good song! The little video I watched with it was cool too. I'm going to assume it was that character's theme and I really liked how they looked. I've always been a sucker for characters that have the tired/dark eyes; not to mention they were just really cute :P

Ohh, I really liked that song. Gotta say, all your recommendations have been awesome so thanks for always sharing them! :) My playlist has gotten substantially larger thanks to you all so it's much appreciated. You can never have too many bands to listen to, mainstream or not!

Your puns and jokes are getting too strong Antoni, Chief and I are going to have a hard time keeping up lol xD Bro, the video to that centipede song...I can't with the legs! The part showing it in the kitchen brought back a memory of mine I can only hope to forget. Despite that it was a catchy song though! I never thought I'd be typing these words, but I liked the mosquito song too lol.

The name Muse didn't actually ring a bell, but then I listened to their most popular hit; Uprising - that's when I recalled hearing them. Dead Inside was quite interesting though. I love that gritty bass! I feel like you could throw in a different music video/image and I'll have a completely different take on the song.

Out of curiosity, I gave that song a listen as well. The only parts that didn't really speak to me were the calmer vocals, but other than that, it was cool! Video was interesting as well.

'Waves of Black' was a win! Really liked that. Also you've nothing to worry about when it comes to recommending something original and in accordance to Ali's style. My comments are proof of that XD

Mr. Brightside and When You Were Young, would always come on my Pandora back in the day and I'd always listen to them. I'm going to recommend one from a different band than my usual, Dead Inside by Muse.

I love The Killers! Although I haven't heard much of their new stuff but it was a good sign when I started listening to the song that I didn't even realize it was new. It felt very much like the stuff I had listened too in my childhood. Other than their more popular songs, I also really like Human by them. My recommendation this week is very similar to last week lol. The song is "The Circle" or "Bedman?'s theme" from Guilty Gear Strive. This was also my most listened to song in 2023 since I recommended my 2022 song last week.

My mum loves The Killers, so I'm also one of those people who knows those two off by heart 😆. My recommendation this week is 'Waves of Black' by Bloodred Hourglass. I also can't lie, I'm running out of songs from bands I haven't recommended before, or ones I deem too mainstream 😔.

ProzXADYN

I know The Killers from my friends putting on Mr. Brightside at my place - good song! And I like Spirit as well. Really awesome! I think you know by now that any electronic elements in a song is always a yes for me. haha As I said, very pretty girl! Great job on her design! Fair enough about your comment on hating mosquitos and centipedes... which gave me an idea for my next recommendations: 'Centipede' by Knife Party and 'Mosquito' by J Majik & Wickaman. Both are UKF releases funnily enough. Enjoy >:) I've made a lot of EDM references lately haha. Centipede, Mosquito, Seven Lions... heck in that same cheetah audio, I even missed an opportunity to reference Electro-Light (as in "electrolytes") - that would've been a quadruple!
