Even though there is not a version released for this month, as discussed in the previous "Plans for 0.20" post, we still have a lot planned for March.
There is a lot of work to be done in March with changes coming to both Uni and our development process, as well as overhauls to all our distribution pages. One of which you can see already with our Itch.io page.
The following is important for all our current Patrons and future Patrons.
We've partnered with Tinyhat Studios to overhaul our distribution pages, help further market Uni to reach more people, and assess our current business model. They've been a massive help in giving us important data. With this data we've collected we have decided to revisit our presentation and current model.
We have come a very long ways since we started work on Uni and it's because of all you amazing people that we've been able to grow as much as we've had, bringing great fun along the way as we've gone down this path together.
We want the launch of 0.20 to be a new beginning as we start to double down on our efforts going forward into the rest of our development life, which I hope is a long a fruitful one bringing better and better quality content. With everything that we have planned for our future we want to prepare for that future by changing the tier and pricing works a final time to reach our maximum potential going forward so that we can bring to you even more content.
The date of the tier changes has not been set yet, but we will make a post letting you know of the specific date once we have settled on it and thought it out more. As it stands this will be how the new tiers will work:
$3 - Development Updates
$6 - Release Build and Sketches
$12 - Polls and Completed Artworks
$20 - Capped at 20, Custom Dream Sequences.
With the launch of 0.20 on April 1st 12:01 CST we have decided to have this version be the final public version of the game, which will become public the following month. We believe that once completed it will be high enough quality to serve as a demo to showcase what the game will be about and how it plays for newcomers to decide if they would like to join our community.
That is all of the current information about the new tiers coming in March. Feel free to leave a comment or @hizor in our discord to discuss it further if you have any questions.
Now for the game changes coming in March!
With the new sprite system for Chelsea completed we need to do a lot of testing and changing other systems such as the wardrobe, and shop to work with the new system. This will be done during the first two weeks with a U.I overhaul of the outfit shop to be similar to how the wardrobe currently works.
With all this comes a lot of bugs ontop of it so we are going to set of the later weeks aside for testing and fixing already reported bugs. During this time we'll be tweaking other systems in the game to work better and to fix route pathing so you don't get anymore of those dates crossing over.
For the most part March will be about polishing and creating as much artwork as we can pump out during the month so a plus on all sides. Keep an eye out for development updates to follow our progress as we work on all this.
This was a very long post, but I like to stay as transparent as I can about what's going on behind the scenes so you guys aren't left in the dark about anything.
That concludes what I had for this post, I'll try to answer any comments you all might have.
Thank you,
