Did you know it's harder for me to lie in writing than speaking. Why is that? That feels like a dumb weakness. It's true, though. Maybe because it's harder to smile your way through a sentence or laugh off bad grammar.

I rarely if ever cuddle my hubby anymore like we did when we dated (he and my kiddo are friggin ovens and my ginger ass is stupidly sensitive to temperature fluctuations), so I really enjoy heartbeat audios. Soothes my soul.

I think for two reasons: 1) In order to hear or feel a heartbeat, you have to be very close to someone, which is so intimate and soothing. 2) I’m sure this sounds a bit nerdy but I love using my tiny stethoscope to listen to a newborn baby’s little heart. I’ve listened to hundreds, maybe thousands, of them throughout all my years as a nurse and that little sound never gets old. {fun fact: their normal heart rate is up to 160 beats per minute vs. adults 60-100bpm}
