nap flavors

what's your favorite flavor nap?

Mine is boat nap. The smaller the boat the better the nap. Bonus points for the smell of salt. Extra credit if I had been swimming and the sun is still out but I am in the shade or have a towel wrapped around my head and perhaps a lovely lady in a skimpy swimsuit is nearby for me to occasionally catch in my glace when I open my sleepy peepers for a second or two.

Beware of artists. They mix with all classes of society and are therefore most dangerous

So I was in a circle with about 7 billionaires-

no wait - wrong story - we'll save that one

So I was on this millionaire's boat. It was small. We were in the Midwest. I was playing Marc Antony. I had just woken up from one of the best boat naps of my life. The only thing missing was the salt in the air. Everyone else was swimming save him and I.

"Ya know [Doc], I'm envious of you"

Is that so?

{and he began to wax}

"I mean here I am... got this boat... we're going back to my second house for a party"

uh huh

"And if my phone goes off I have to answer it. I have to. Or I'll lose my job"

mmmm

"And my job is so freaking stressful, [Doc]"

I bet

"I am beholden to these... these... assholes"

mm hmm

"And I see you and [other actors] out here just... living the dream"

yea

"I mean, do you feel that way? Like you're living the dream?"

oh yea

"Hmmm.... I wish we could trade places, man"

no offence [Moneybags], but I don't

The wild part is I really don't think that dialogue is far from verbatim.

Nurse Joy likes a fall day on the porch of a cabin with a heavy blanket midday nap. River would find a corner or a nook to curl up in just before evening. Flynn enjoys a morning post-coffee post-workout post-breakfast post-orgasm nap. Who doesn't love those [post-O naps], though? The weed is all the way down to your feet at that point and you're totally drained of cum and you tingle but it's a low bassy tingle like you've fused with some gentle subdued subwoofer. You sort of vibrate to sleep and wake up so refreshed [sometimes ready for round 2 or for poached eggs].

How about you?

this post reminded me one of my photo series I made like 15 years ago. I took photos of friends and people in general, who were napping. who allowed themselves to fall asleep in my presence—completely unaware of the camera, but deeply aware of the space they shared with me. the moments were fleeting, soft, and beautiful, and in those quiet instants, I felt an overwhelming sense of connection with each person. it was more than just photography; it was a meditation on how much we trust others, even in our most exposed states <3

A playing hooky from work nap. It's my own private lil secret. No one I know thinks I'm available. The house is quiet. The phone is quiet. I've checked a few boxes off the to-do list and now it's time to just...melt. Put on repeats of my fav show and just turn off the world for a lil while. 🤌

Oh man I’ve had some good naps but I think in my top five would be snoozing underneath an olive tree on a tiny deserted beach in Kefalonia. Listening to the waves lapping against the shore and the leaves whispering in the breeze and cicadas humming in the fields. Feeling the push and pull of the heat of the sun warm my bones and the breeze cool my skin. I would like to go back.

Mid-afternoon, not too late, rainy day under a blanket with a dog at my knee and another at my hip couch nap. Bonus if I fell asleep with audio story of some kind on and it sort of just intermittently permeates my brain while I’m asleep.

I’m with Nurse Joy on this one. The cozy life is for me.

I have a bit of a controversial opinion in that I don't really like naps... haha. I usually end up sleeping too hard, and then I wake up disoriented and more tired than I was before I fell asleep. However, I can recall a few glorious experiences, and my favorite nap flavor would be "warm summer nap outside". One favorite that comes to mind is also water related. A hot day in the middle of summer, spent swimming in the lake. My grandfather used to live on a lake, a lot of time was spent there over the years, especially in the summer. It was after lunch and I was in the shade under a big maple tree. It was the perfect combination of cheap wine coolers, sandwiches with fresh deli meat and good bread, and a delightful warm and breezy day full of laughing with my favorite people. I nodded off under the tree, cushioned by my huge beach towel and the soft grass. [Like seriously, that grass was the softest grass ever and I'd lay under that tree all the time] One of the times I wish I could have bottled the feeling of that moment. The warm breeze on my skin, the sound of the tree leaves rustling, the distant sound of boats and jet skis on the lake, the subtle smell of sunscreen and warm skin. Perfection!

Great names!

My mother says I refused to nap as a child for fear of missing out on things. As an adult, naps are one of my favourite things. - The blank slate. That nebulous post-O existence (especially ones expertly coaxed in multiples). When my neuro-spicy mind is washed in chemicals. Its hyperactive nature melts and I am stillness. No racing thoughts. No over-analyzing. No to-do’s. Voice wordless. Focus ethereal. Body weightless. Contentment personified. My eyes get heavy and I drift unmoored into sleep. - The gravity slumber. Weighted blanket. Weighted pet. Weighted human (my fav). Anchor me to earth and my body will unhand its tension. My eyes will give up soon after. - Bookworm cat nap. Warm beverage and a sweet. A cat. A book. A blanket. A fire. It’s likely raining. Fighting heavy lids to finish the chapter. - Nature’s shut eye. Outdoor hammock/lounge/swings/etc. Warm sun, nice breeze. Rocking back and forth. I won’t stand a chance at consciousness.

It's the spring between like 1 and 3 where it's gloomy and drizzling outside so you can sleep with the window open. Sheets are freshly washed, with an oversized tee-shirt, and my penjamin. Watch a couple tiktoks then I'm out cold lol

Younger me naps >>> adult me naps. Buuut a common theme was always getting a big lunch (read: hella carbs). Then when we got home everyone would report to their respective napping stations and pass tf out lol. Mine was always by a big open window. TLDR: post-carb naps for the win! Bonus nice was being the first to wakeup while everyone else was still asleep and the house was still quiet. Bliss!

My favorite is “on the couch feeling the afternoon sun through the windows.” It’s warm and fuzzy and soft.
