Just a song today

Hey team,
I told myself I'd post every other day on here but let's see how long this 1/long rest pattern continues [that one was for you fellow Dungeon Dwellers]
I finally finished Charlie Chaplin vs America and if we, as a nation, decided every famous man born before 1960 was just kind of a piece of garbage I would gladly accept it. I feel better about not *loving* his movies. I don't listen to much Elvis any more either [but why would you when Big Mama Thornton does a better Hound Dog anyway?]
To be fair - I have met a couple of my heroes and it has gone very well. Most notably, Tom Gottlieb. The voice of Cookie Masterson [if you ever played You Don't Know Jack or the more current Jackbox games]. He was my director for a project and boy oh boy did we have a ball together. Tom is one my favorite voice actors like Bugs Bunny is many peoples' favorite comedian - you don't even realize it until you're asked. [is that the right use of a post "s" apostrophe? I hope so. Never tell me]
I love Vaudeville. I used to hang out with a 'boudoir' of burlesque dancers [that's like a 'gaggle' of geese or a 'school' of fish] when my city had a healthier burlesque scene pre-covid. My drug dealer was one of the main choreographers. One night a woman dressed as The Riddler from Adam West's Batman had me under a spell and now when I see Frank Gorshin in that costume I get confused a bit in the nethers.
Lots more stories there but we'll space 'em out. How tragic if I'd gotten into this job years ago. I wouldn't have half these fun tales with which to regale you.
See you ["hear"... you? no. You'll hear me. Is there a verb for being heard? If not, we should make one] tomorrow.
I laughed out loud at the 🍑 ass comment! And for real, friend, I have been trying to figure out what we are calling ourselves. Like I’m ok with Patients. But ooohhh…Rapturistas is fun!!!! (👈🏾 I was trying to type “Rapturists” and it AUTOCORRECTED to “Rapturista”! What say we??? 🤔

I loved those YDKJ computer games. I’m dating myself on that a little but they were fun. I saw a burlesque show in a speakeasy in New Orleans years ago and was having all kinds of funny feelings when I was finally dragged out of there. 🫠

love me a little burlesque, as a pole dancer/general heathen on the dance floor myself ❤️🔥 and jackbox games are fantastic, you’re looking at a gal that never lost a round of “fakin’ it” #actorskills

Looking forward to tomorrow's audio! And hell yeah on Big Mama Thornton!
I've been fortunate so far (🤞🏾) in having positive encounters when meeting celeb faves. It probably helps that I look like a harmless, but awkward, potato.

hahaha "Team" is absolutely my human familiar's vernacular slipping in there - whoops :)
I love that y'all share stories back, btw. Insight into the lives of gorgeous women was another upside to the job I didn't anticipate.
Now be good little patients and work on your patience

Yesterday I said to myself, you don’t have to comment everyday Vanessa and well here I am. 🤷🏻♀️
I heart the video to that song so much. I shared it with my best friend, he’ll flip over that animation. Thank YOU for sharing.
One day I picked up one of Henry Rollins’ books and 1 lead to 6. I had such an intense visceral reaction to them that I grabbed a sketch book and wrote down all the thoughts and questions I had while reading. In an uncharacteristically bold move I ripped out all the pages which were written like serial killer chicken scratch and added neatly written note telling him the books that I read and that attached were my unfiltered writings and sent it to him. Exactly 7 days from the day I put it in the mailbox, I came home from work and my friend, who lived with me, said I got the mail and you have a weird piece from LA or Brussels I can’t tell. I took it and opened it and said Holy Shit, it’s a letter from Henry. Rollins. It was on stolen hotel stationary. The envelope was from Brussels and the paper inside was from Madagascar and he thanked me for sending him my pages and he answered all my questions One of the things I had written while reading was Don’t you have any friends?? (some of my pages were bordering unhinged) and he wrote No, I don’t have many friends. Just a few important ones. He ended it wishing me well and signed it Your Friend, Henry. I just kept saying over and over Henry Rollins wrote my name twice. One day about a yearish later, in Chicago, I got off the bus, going to work. I had a busy 5 cross walk iintersection to get there. Waiting for the light to change I was in back of a guy and thought this dude has a black flag tattoo on his neck just like Henry Rollins. I slightly leaned and was thought huh, and a misfits one in the same place and then he turned around and it was Henry Rollins and I died for a second and said Hi and he said Hi and we crossed and then waited together at the 2nd cross walk and then crossed and turned the same way and I thought oh fuck I swear I’m not following you and just before my job, he turned to see if I was still there so I smiled liked not a stalker were just going the same way 😬 and he smiled back and then I walked in to work and screamed. I call this “The Day Henry Rollins Walked Me to Work”. He’s not my hero, per say, he’s my lobster. 🦞

"Team" -- I don't really think that's acceptable unless you plan on slapping some ass (((too far?)))
Call us your little Rapturists? Rapturites? [Are those even real words?] [On second thought maybe not -- they sounded better in my mind.] Maybe just stick to 'Patients' because obviously you are The Doctor [notwithstanding the lack of medical degree].
A boudoir of burlesque dancers -- excellent 👌🏻 I've been dying to go and experience a show -- there was a burlesque parody of Star Wars showing in Toronto but alas none of my friends are into that. So here I am -- burlesque-less.🫠
As always the stories are a joy it really aides the Monday blues -- so thanks.

Dita Von Teese currently has a burlesque show in Las Vegas and it is amazing. She’s using vintage Bob Mackie showgirl costumes and the original sets from a classic show. Highly recommend. It’s hot no matter what you’re into. So hot.
The collective noun for burlesque dancers is officially “boudoir”. Let’s spread the word.

This post reminded me of several things … 1) many fun nights out at Lucha Va Voom. 2) Meeting one of my musical heroes and totally botching it. Like epically bad. Like, think about it at 3am when I can’t sleep bad. 3) But I met so many of my comedy heroes when I was a stand up groupie and 95% of them were so lovely (and are still lovely). 4) I had forgotten about your ramble tease until now and I’ve got those anticipation butterflies all over again
