this is my favorite poem and I will *n~e-v~E-r* like how I read it and I have tried for about two decades BUT a promise made is a debt unpaid and art has it's own stern code [see what I did there - fucking clever - booom!]
I spoke about 40 words all day today other than this, it was marvelous.
No Quinn tomorrow but very much so Tuesday. A bit to recover and bit of business strategy [perhaps even acumen]. I was gifted words from one of y'all for Tuesday's drop and I am very excited to try my hand at a prepared script

This was beautiful! I had not heard or read this poem before, if was wonderful. My dad has a deep love for the art of cowboy poetry (Badger Clark, Baxter Black, Waddie Mitchell, etc) and some of this reminded me of that in the best way. ❤️

Blind, faithful, teeth tearing at the hem of her paper dress stained with ink. A muse is both Madonna and whore, angel and demon, wolf and prey. We are made for each other. We are mad for each other We are mad.

I think I’m a pretty cool mom. My kids and their friends talk to me about everything… including sex, but I have an inkling that they would not be interested in knowing *all* the lovely things I listen to, especially not my son😬🤭

Nah…Several summers ago my son had to retake Junior English during summer school, and I ended up reading his required reading as well so I could help guide him if he needed it. I didn’t expect it anything more than just helping him, so it was delightful when it developed into our own little book club. We ended up frequently discussing what we were reading. The Cremation of Sam McGee was one of the requirements. The related assignment was an essay about something that might be so important to someone that they would continue to pursue it at all costs regardless if was detrimental to their life, and as their friend, how do you essentially save them from themselves? My son sometimes struggled with comprehending and applying what he reads, so I was extremely impressed by what he said {paraphrasing here}, most friends would try to talk their friend out of doing something that could cause harm upon themselves and impose heartache to their loved ones, but sometimes a friend’s role is to offer support even if it means feeling uncomfortable at times. The final was an essay comparing all of the required reading (this, Of Mice and Men, The Raven, and The Color of Water) and discussing how they relate to each other, which was very interesting. If you’ve never read The Color of Water, I highly recommend it!!
