Sunday Espresso Ramble - "River" [Patreon exclusive]

[vulnerable] [true ramble] [mostly sfw]

Many minds before mine have mused on making confessions to strangers and the warmth and ease that seems to always go with it.  One of the reasons I took up this mangy moniker.

It *hurts* just a bit not to have edited this but hey - authenticity, right?

[sometimes your mind says "shotgun" looking cup instead of "shot glass" for example]

The Lavazza was real good this morning.  It's really quite lovely out.

Look, you don't have to - but maybe... if you can...

...do something nice for yourself today.

[consider it a light request from your non-physician]

Ok well now I'm crying thanks. My River ended badly and they hurt me greatly. Even then, still not the worst I was ever hurt. I never felt adored, or special, or desired. And now 9years later I still haven't. Just a handful of imitations of intimacy since. I thought I was wanted at one point recently but they changed their mind the second a better option came. It must be truly special to have something like this. Hold onto it, not just for yourself but for those of us who can't.

I listened to this earlier and can’t stop thinking about it. This is such a beautiful story. I work in mental health and see so many children and adolescents who’ve gone through really tough shit. Many times with trauma that’s irreparable. The fact that River had you and your family at such a difficult time likely saved her life. I wish more young people had protective factors like this when they need it most.

What do you wanna bet Ma was like shit how do I break this up without making it awkward or making them feel bad about sex (in general). Mothers always know what’s going on! 😂

Catherine

This is one of the sweetest first-time stories I've ever heard. Thank you for sharing it. ❤️

Can you believe I haven’t made my way through all the older posts? It is the vulnerability you display in sharing your stories that keep me [us] around. This story was so beautifully told, thank you for sharing such a personal moment with us. 💕

Steph

What a lovely story. You paint beautiful pictures with your words and your voice, and I felt immersed in your memory. That was... good for me, as my story was not a good one. Mine hasn't left me after all these years, but yours now overlays it (just a little bit), and makes it rest a bit easier. Thanks for sharing a deeply personal bit of yourself.

Jamie

This is so beautiful. You can hear in your voice the fondness you have for this memory and also this woman. My god, sir. 🥹

Omg I thought the espresso was really hitting you hard… turns out I had just accidentally hit the speed control button and set it at 1.75x hahaha I was so confused. Edit: at the right speed, this audio is very beautiful and touching …

I need more Italian food talk that is my love language. My husband (who has passed away) his grandma from Sicily taught me everything I needed to know about a perfect Sunday gravy and homemade pasta. 🤌🏻

Jeanna

That was so beautiful. Thank you 🙏🏾 for sharing your life with us and for expressing it with such grace.
