Important Changes to our Patreon Billing

Derek here! I wanted to let all of our members know about a change we are making that will help me deliver a better membership experience going forward. I am switching from “per creation” to “monthly” billing on Patreon. The migration process does not have an ETA so I do not have an exact date at this moment but I will let you know when I know more.

This means that every month you will have a consistent price for all of the benefits that I provide, and it won’t fluctuate based on the number of paid posts that month. This has been requested in the past, as the “per creation” method, is a little opaque for some people and the subscription billing offers more transparency.

I decided to make this change for the consistency it provides to members and me and because of the upcoming changes that Apple is rolling out in November 2024. I have no choice on the matter as all accounts such as mine will be migrated by November 2025 anyway.

Your membership will be converted from a “per creation” amount to a “monthly” amount, and you will remain on the same tier you are on and receive the same benefits (except for the Gold Coin tier which will be merged with the Silver Coin tier). Tiers will change pricing to reflect the single charge vs. the compounded cost of many posts per month. I do not have the specifics about the prices as of now but know that it is my goal that the migration process is seamless and simple.

Important Info About Monthly Caps

If you applied a monthly maximum to the number of posts you pay for each month, this may result in a monthly membership that is lower than the new price of that tier. This price will be maintained as long as you continue to use your current payment method. Thanks to this, already existing patrons can remain with their expected expenses, in the new billing scheme.
