709 Mausoleum of Cursed Scales - Lv5 Shadowdark Adventure

Many years ago, Thierry Gibbs made a deal with a witch that went wrong, and his entire family was cursed. Scales covered their bodies and nothing they tried fixed the problem. In the end, their bloodline ended and this mausoleum is all that remains. The heroes are hired because monsters have started coming out of this place. Within, they shall find the mummified remains of the Gibbs, turned into viperian undead abominations.
In this level-5 Shadowdark adventure, the heroes journey to a cursed mausoleum. They must defeat Thierry's spirit and descend to the lowest level to confront him. Perhaps, they can talk some sense into his head filled with hatred. Or maybe the heroes are happy to leave Thierry's soul to rot. What will they do when confronted with a difficult moral quandary?
This adventure has been designed for Shadowdark RPG through their 3rd party license. The system is meant to be accessible to OSR players and modern players alike. Adapting the material to 5e or other systems should not be difficult.
