700 Trials of the Knightly Tenets - Lv2 Shadowdark Adventure

In Trials of the Knightly Tenets, the characters hear rumors of a strange gate in the misty hills that has materialized. None have dared cross the threshold to explore it but there are rumors that a mighty blade of legend is hidden in the area. Looking for treasure, renown, and the legendary blade, the characters embark on this journey to be the first to explore the strange dungeon. Upon arriving, a trial fit for the purest hearts awaits them.

In this low-level Shadowdark adventure, the characters met the ghost of a knight, Sir Gawain. He informs them that his arcane blade shall only be bequeathed to someone that upholds the four knightly tenets: loyalty, valor, honesty, and selflessness. The characters must pass a trial for each value. If anyone present is worthy enough to pass all four trials, Sir Gawain gladly gifts them his magic blade. With it comes a responsibility to uphold these values and make the grim world a better place through their valiant deeds.

This adventure has been designed for Shadowdark RPG through their 3rd-party license. The system is meant to be accessible to OSR players and modern players alike. Adapting the material to 5e or other systems should not be difficult.
