674 The Throne of Dust
Added 2023-06-11 21:58:47 +0000 UTCIn The Throne of Dust, the characters hear of an ancient sepulcher where the ruler of a bygone kingdom is interred. Legend has it that therein, the King of Dust has the power to judge an individual's values and deeds. Those of clear hearts and noble objectives may be granted an unlimited wish. Conversely, those who do not pass the king's test of character are sentenced to a gruesome death in the dungeon.
In this level-4, Shadowdark adventure, the characters embark on a quest to the king's sepulcher. The King of Dust's wish-granting ability is powerful enough to change to course of their over-arching campaign. Alas, only those of pure hearts among the party may be expected to succeed, if anyone else attempts to fool the King of Dust, there awaits for them a grim fate and an immediate death.
This adventure has been designed for Shadowdark RPG through their 3rd party license. The system is meant to be accessible to OSR players and modern players alike. Adapting the material to 5e or other systems should not be difficult.
