An influential family suffers a strange ailment that causes its rulers to etch into insanity after only a few years of directing the family business. Ana Valerian, the current ruler, already feels the tendrils of this affection closing in on her mind. After years of research, she believes that the solution is in the family crypt.
The characters embark on the exploration of the Valerian crypt after receiving a teleportation circle, the only way to reach the remote place. The place is guarded by the angered spirits of past Valerian family members who can do nothing to quench the hatred within them, the result of an ancient curse. If the characters are careful they may find a way to solve this problem in the dangerous compound.
This adventure leads the heroes to an extraplanar grave, pits them against perilous undead monsters that know no mercy, and allows them to gain citywide renown by saving one of the most influential families in the city.
