288 The Fancy Lynx

Denizens of the Tower

This is the Fancy Lynx. A cool location to visit in large cities. Part tavern, part gambling hall, part show house, the gambling hall has Fancy Lynx has it all. The best wines and spirits, games of chance and the chance to become rich, and shows that go from gnome theater plays to exotic dancers. However, the place has a secret. In the basement, there is a large sinkhole that goes all the way down to the Underdark. It looks dangerous but nothing can come from below thanks to the protective barrier of three magic rings.

Satin, the most popular and sought off dancer in the Fancy Lynx is not what she seems. With unnatural beauty she influences everyone around her. Devilish blood runs through her veins. She is only playing a part as her only objective is to gain access to the basement to dispel the magic in the protective rings. She does not know what or who will emerge from the abyss below.

This illustration comes in DM and PC versions. I also included individual maps for each story for roll20 games. Due to the nature of this project file, I cannot provide B/W linework versions of this one.

Thanks for your support this far. It means a lot to us. I hope you can use this adventure/location soon.

Just wanted to add on here that we've had a great conversation in DMs and came to a great understanding.

Hi, Curse of Sebs! Thank you for this comment and your opinions on the issue of heteronormativity. What you point out is a fair point. I actually went back to read the entry in the MM and found out that succubus and incubus is used interchangeably. It was an issue of confusion, since those are the only "gendered" fiends I though it mattered whether they were male or female but the book uses both names for all kinds of victims they might seduce. You bring a fair point, regardless and I will try to keep it in mind in stories I write where it matters. As an aside, this is something I explored more in depth in my Eberron Sharn Trilogy which is on sale at the DMs Guild. I chose to use non-binary pronoun "they" for the warforged species since they are genderless. If you're interested just PM me your dms guild email address and I can send you a complimentary copy.

This is awesome! I love the lore and possibility for adventures with demons and denizens of the Underdark. I have been a huge fan of yours for a long, long time, so please don't think I am coming at you, but I just wanted to point out that the way you describe Satin's allure is hetero normative and exclusionary of lesbian and bi/pansexual. Jeremy Crawford has been quite clear that all identities & sexualities are are the norm in D&D5e. I'm sure you didn't mean anything in your phrasing, but I'm just brining it to your attention. Fantastic work in ever other respect and I always love your maps, and how you work on all scales. I think I especially love your individual buildings and small settlements, but your cities, realms and kingdoms are wonderful too. I hope you have a lovely weekend and happy gaming :)
