Star Wars Story Ideas

Hi!

First of all, sorry that it always takes so long to update. Currently, its difficult to get ideas how the story should develop without simply rehashing the canon and to create something original that is also intersting. Besides, I have to look out to not make Oscar and the Alliance as a whole into a Gary Stu, which I realize they were in the earlier chapters.

Anyway...

Over the last few months I read some very good Star Wars stories like Sublight Drive, Darth Cain - The Reluctant Sith Lord, Ridire Corcairdhearg: The Shard of War and Blood, The Man in Red, Smiling, and Dog of War: Clone Wars. All good stories that you should check out.

They gave me ideas for two Star Wars stories (that I wont start writing right now, simply collect some ideas for) and I wanted to share those ideas with you and get your thoughts on them. Especially on how the story could develope to drift away from canon without making it boring and easy to predict.

Well the ideas are:

1. A Gamer SI in a different way

I know, I know - A Gamer SI, nothing ever went wrong with them.

In my opinion, they can either be a very fun read, or a power-wank. It's difficult to strike a balance between engaging challenges for the character and a reasonable progression of the chara's power without going too fast. Besides its difficult to create a game-system that's good. Yet, it is very fun to create one and to think of the skills and their effects.

I want to skip that problem by making the SI-Gamer not  the protagonist. Instead I want to make the SI into the Jedi-Master of an OC who is the protagonist, and every POV will not be from the SI's perspective.

The premise of the story is that the OC finds the SI in ruin frozen in carbonite or something similar. SI gets defrozen, recognizes the force potential in the OC and trains him to become a Jedi.

The story begins around the time of Episode 1.

The SI grew up during the time of The Old Republic (SWTOR) but is neither the Hero of Tython nor the Barsen'thor.

As all Gamers, the SI got quests, followed by fame and such, got the Title of Defender of the South as the general of the Southern Fleet. Became a Jedi-Master, a member of the Council and so on.

The SI is max level, but the maximum level is something around 60-70. Skills have their own level that gets higher the more they are used, but the SI's most used skills are taking thousands of uses before they level up since their level is so high.

Since the SI gets quests, and those of you who know game quests know, that through these I can get away with the SI coming to the Prequel-Era.

I don't have much more, but I think its a nice idea.

Your thoughts?

2. Two Pureblood Sith in the Prequel-Era

This idea got directly inspired by the story: The Man in Red  I talked about earlier. The main character is Pureblood Sith that finds itself in the orbit of Korriban with the memories of the Sith-Warriot and Sith-Inquisitor who are somehow the same person (Multiverse combining into one? That question isn't answered yet) and wants to resurrect the Sith-Empire. Also it isn't known yet how he got there in the first place.

My idea is to split the Sith-Warrior and Inquisitor into two SI who are brother (Warrior) and sister (Inquisitor) and also Pureblood Sith. They don't simply appear, but are experiments of a former student of Darth Plagueis who was fascinated by the Sith species and wanted to use them as soldiers/servants and so on. Furthermore, to make them more powerful, he tried to implant the memories of old and powerful Jedi and Sith into his experiments. It didn't really work as most went insane. The two SIs were the only successful experiments, but they get more like feelings and flashbacks when there is a stimulus, and in case of their training, it is more like they are relearning things.

They grow up in a secret facility without Plagueis student since he was hunted down and killed by Sidious as part of his training.

Like the character in The Man in Red they want to recreate the Sith-Empire as a counter to the Republic since they think a two-state system is needed to create advancement in the galaxy, especially since they don't know if the Yuuzhan-Vong exist or not.

Basically, they take over the role of the Confederacy. (Interactions with that could be interesting)

The story (their "birth") starts around 60 or 70 BBY. Should give them enough time to grow up and built the foundations of their empire and make it strong enough to be a contender in galactic politics and events.

I don't have much more than that yet...

Your toughts?

Hope you liked the ideas.

Yours,

ZK

I understand having a loss of creative flow. I really hope at some point you finish Oscar’s story. As far as Star Wars goes, I was there on opening night for Star Wars. Really loved that universe until Disney beat it out of me. I fear Star Wars is lost to me. It’s been so sullied and degradated that it’s FUBAR. I wish you luck and good writing.
