What have I been up to?
Added 2025-03-30 14:00:11 +0000 UTCHello everyone, sorry I haven't had a chance to do much besides post chapters lately. Now that my most recent launch is done, and I have a minute to breathe, I have a whole pile of unrelated updates. I’ll keep all of them short, but they’ll add up anyway!

Tenebroum 4 is available for Preorder here and the Audiobook for book 3 is available here, so if you have any interest in picking either of those up, please do so.
I have finished my final draft of Tenebroum 5 and will be handing it off to the publisher soon, so I just need to make its cover, and then that story will be done (until the inevitable sequel.)
My launch of Bloodstained Blade is complete, and I’m very pleased by how well it did. You can see by the below graph that it is the best launch I’ve had to date, and my first 3k follower launch. Feels good, and I want to thank all of you for the support, though. I didn’t think ‘story about an evil sword’ would be a thing a lot of people wanted to read, but it was a story I definitely wanted to write, so here we are.
(Graph shows the follower count by day for the first 30 days of their existence. Earlier books not listed weren't tracked, they did much worse and were never on Rising Stars, etc.)

My friend and I are even working on a small game based on the premise. So, I’m definitely having a lot of fun with it. You are welcome to check it out. It’s not done yet by any means. https://polip1337.github.io/Bloodthirsty-blade/#
I also want to talk about a couple of upcoming changes to my Patreon.
First, the good news: I plan to increase the number of chapters available to all tiers. Currently, tiers are 10 or 20 chapters ahead. I plan to increase this to 15 and 30 chapters, respectively, and hope to do this in April, or May at the latest, so expect a surge of chapters sometimes soon.
That said, I also plan to increase the price of some tiers. This will occur after I increase ethe size of each tier and will not affect existing patrons. Prices will only rise for future patrons. I have no plans to ever increase the price for anyone currently subscribing. (Though I would note that the people who are subbing through Apple’s app could save themselves some money by subbing directly from Patreon’s website.)
My current pricing scheme is $4 or $5 for the normal tier of a story, $6 for the plus tier of that story, $8 for my all of the above tier. I plan to normalize those prices at $5/$7.50/$10. Given that the plus tier will be getting bumped up to 60 chapters based on my current line up, I don’t think this is unreasonable, but you are welcome to stay a Patreon at the existing cost for as long as you like!
If people are interested, I can also create a PLUS tier for Bloodstained Blade (though this will take some time, as it's impossible to build backlog during a launch period.)
Finally, and perhaps least popularly, I will be reducing the posting frequency of Bloodstained Blade from every day to every other day starting in April. now that the launch is done. Though we are far from the conclusion, I have burned through my initial outline as I get close to the conclusion of writing the second major arc, and I need some time to brainstorm/ideate so that things don’t start to feel rushed.
As much as I enjoy putting out 14 chapters a week in total, it's a bit hard. With Tenebroum ending (posting and editing) I am switching gears to focus on building Bloodstained outline/backlog and continuing my always-in-progress-but-never-finished effort to rewrite Letter of the Law, my first novel, while I continue to keep up all of the other ongoing projects.
Expect to see that rewrite early this summer, and I don’t plan to start anything new until the fall. What will I do with that spare time? College classes mostly. I am 9 classes from completing my bachelor's degree. I also plan to work on more fun side projects/short stories/etc, and at least one small sci-fi story once it gets really hot out (to enhance those post-apocalyptic vibes.)
Expect more updates on all of these as the days drift by. Truly, though, I could not do all this without your support. I don’t even mean the money, either (though it is also nice.) The energy in my comments sections lately has been wonderful. It really makes me want to up my game as much as I can. So, thank you for that.
