At least for me, the podcasts from podcast services might have an ad at the beginning, but not in the middle. Although granted, I rarely listen the whole way through, so take my experience with a grain of salt.

This is going to be a dumb question, but exactly the reason I came here since I couldn't find the sponsor-free link anywhere (the second dumb part of this sentence): do podcasts have ads in podcast services? I'm asking for your usual ads where every 30 mins or so there's an ad break, not necessarily one made by 2W staff, and because I was about to listen to the recent Rewind on Apple or Spotify until Eric heroically put the entire recording on YT. I usually see these live or their corresponding streams. I don't know, I feel like I should know this.
