The feet were square pegs in FE Awakening lol Horizons plot reminds me very much of the book "A Canticle for Lebowitz" - just with the nukes replaced by giant robots bringing the doom of humanity

2025-03-28 19:26:57 +0000 UTCWith the brouhaha about the term "JRPG," I just started referring to them as "Anime RPGs." Most of the difference in narrative tropes and characters, for example, seems based on the fact that JRPGs draw inspiration from anime, while western RPGs draw inspiration from the tabletop scene. The gameplay differences mostly seem to stem from that as well (the more defined characters of Anime RPGs don't require, and in some ways directly conflict with, the customizability of western RPGs, for example). Add on the fact that a large majority of JRPGs even embrace that anime aesthetic and it becomes an even more apt moniker. /shrug
