End of year update + gone for Christmas/New years

Hello everyone!

First of all, I want to say thank you to everyone for another wonderful year of amazing art and amazing people! I can't stress enough that none of this self-employed artist content would be possible without your continued love and support. Thank you.

Now onto the meat and potatoes of this update:

Vacation to see family:

I will be out of town from Dec 20th - Jan 3rd. I am visiting family for about two weeks. I will also be taking my off-site workstation so I can also work on commissions and other goodies to help mitigate some lost time. I won't be working hard, but mostly during downtime with family. What this means is that my Patreon will be taking a light hiatus for the time being. I will, however, do my best to upload non-animated content there to make up for the lack of animated content. This leads me to my next point.

Commissions.

As you may have noticed, I have been taking on quite a bit of YCH/quick commissions while having some outstanding work to do. I've been dipping low in funds and have been needing to make some extra income. I'm not going to make up any excuse for not finishing previous "paid for" commissions. I took on more work than I was ready for. If anyone who has a "paid for" commission in queue and would like a refund, please ask me so we can work out the refund process. As for commissions that are in queue and have NOT been paid for, unfortunately I may have to clear them from the queue. If the commission is something that I am still able to work on, I will keep them on my queue. I am going to reach out to everyone on my Trello so we can handle each case individually.

Animated commissions.

These are still up in the air for me. I still don't have a solid way of pricing them that I would be happy with. I am more confident in pricing the motion tween styled animations and YCHs since theyre easier for me to produce. For commissions, I'm not going to lie to myself and offer the BEST COLORING QUALITY with them. That would be just too costly and take way too long to complete within a reasonable amount of time. Most hand animated commissions will be of the rough/non-linework quality with the possibility of flat colors, unless stated otherwise. I do want to take on animated commissions, but I am going to be VERY selective of what I want to do and charge what I feel is fair on my half. I am going to be very selfish when it comes to these types of commissions since they take a lot more work, time and effort. A rough idea of how much to charge would be an hourly rate. Nothing set in stone, but more info on that will be posted as prices become concrete.

Patreon:

I'm doing my best to get into a regular posting routine and to make Patreon a major income source. I did talk about some rough patches a while back regarding their security, but from what I've seen and experienced so far, most things seem to be fine. That means that posting will continue to be normal and uploading will be consistent as possible. Going into the new year, I want to stick to a more consistent schedule, so I will be working on that in the coming weeks.

Besides these updates, there isn't much else to report on my end. I hope to continue to provide quality commissions and animations for everyone to enjoy. Thank you for taking the time to read this. Please reach out to me if you have any questions, comments or concerns.

Thank you,
-Calorie
