Helldivers 2 and Consumer Pushback Done Right | Unpacked

There are differences in the scenarios, but I do wish the halo community would take a few notes from this instance. There’s always a wave of pushback whenever something isn’t to the community’s liking, but that pushback is always unfocused and frankly insufferable at times. A cohesive argument directed at the right people would go a lot farther than just lamenting on how “Bungie did it better”

I wish this episode could have explored the issue a bit more. I feel like you guys were mostly recapping what we already know about the situation. For example, the issue with the community managers at Arrowhead are actually more complicated than they look from the outside. Spitz, the community manager, was more of a "rogue element" and him telling people to review bomb the game to give Arrowhead leadership more leverage with Sony was definitely not intended by the rest of Arrowhead. It's why he ended up getting terminated shortly afterwards. The community managers at Arrowhead have been embroiled in controversy before. Usually by either being combative with the userbase or because of political stuff on Twitter. Spitz is remembered as a hero now, but prior to this controversy he was fairly unpopular as a community manager because of his combative attitude. I think just chalking this entire situation up as "Arrowhead and the players working together to bring Sony down a peg" is a nice narrative and there's a lot of truth to it, but I think the internal politics of the situation are a bit more nuanced than that.

Lol all good!

Since the Mass Effect 3 ending debacle and the subsequent Retake Mass Effect movement, it’s been proven that a focused and dedicated community can affect meaningful change. Good to see it working here! I mean, it shouldn’t have to be this way but publishers keep doing stupid shit so here we are…

Oh my god, I'm so sorry, you're right. I was looking at an entirely wrong video for a different channel. XD I'm so sorry for the bad vibes!

Matthew Piziak

Huh? This didn't even use a premiere.

Nick Calandra

It's times like this I'm reminded of when the Capcom of America warned Capcom of Japan about the pushback they'd get for SF5 on disc dlc and they acted shocked people would crack the disc. And did it anyway

🙃 EDIT: I'm such a dummy, this wasn't a premiere at all and I was looking at an entirely different channel. Sorry!! ORIGINAL POST: I really don't like premieres, since they glue themselves selfishly to the top of the subscriptions feed on an already crowded YouTube UI. I usually unsubscribe entirely from channels that do premieres and start checking them separately.

English tuff sumtimes.

1:04 - exacerbated, rather than exasperated. Great video though, nice and succinct

Wow good on them, hope the 100 freakin' countries can get the game back.
