Paypal Payment Issues

We're aware that a lot of people have had their Patreon memberships cancelled because of failed Patreon payments through Paypal.
We've contacted Patreon to sort this out and will keep you posted on updates as we have them. Apologies for the inconvenience and we're hoping to get this sorted out as fast as possible to not interrupt your perks.

I had it as well. for some reason paypal deleted my creditcard from its payment options. I have no clue why. I added the very same card with the same details and it works again. Very strange

2024-05-16 04:38:39 +0000 UTCIt's a pain in the ass but it can't be your fault. I've seen it happen with other Patreons. Sometimes Patreon itself flips out and has trouble with one or more payment methods. Hopefully they get it sorted quick!

2024-05-15 23:46:19 +0000 UTCFrom what I've heard from banks and PayPal, the issue was that the expiration date on the account or card did not match that of the invoice. Not sure why this is happening, I haven't heard back from Patreon.

2024-05-15 16:25:06 +0000 UTCOh interesting. I was having issues setting up a new patreon for a different creator last night using PayPal and assumed it was a one off problem. Maybe it's a widespread issue though. I'll review my existing patreon payments, thanks for the heads up

2024-05-15 15:39:41 +0000 UTCIn case anyone doesn’t see my reply/child comment, to resolve this try going to Patreon on a computer browser, find the failed payment in your payment history, and retry it. I had to specifically do it through a computer browser when this happened to me a little bit ago for my SW sub.

2024-05-15 15:29:07 +0000 UTCI had it happen to me when I was monthly initially, then after fixing it switched to annual. When I first signed up, they didn’t have annual as an option. Glad I switched over as it seems this is just something that happens with Patreon sometimes with monthly payments :/

2024-05-15 15:27:24 +0000 UTCHey, I had this same issue a bit ago, actually. Same thing, I thought it happened again for me. What I had to do to resolve it was go to Patreon on a computer and find the failed payment and retry it. I specifically had to do it through a computer browser; it wasn’t going through on mobile for some reason. I had contacted Patreon support myself when it happened and that’s what I was advised to do, so it’s something they’ve had happen before I think as they knew the workaround right off the bat.
