A new episode of Bytesized is now available, this time with Jack Packard!
I spent a good deal of the first part of the game holding onto some rope because I thought it would be useful. lol

I heard they set the level cap at 12 because, beyond that, player abilities get too powerful and versatile to code into the game. Rope sounds like that.

Watch the devs patch the game so you can do everything Jack mentioned...and more. π Want to play a magic flute song that causes your rope to slowly rise and turn into a climbing pole? YES, you CAN do that! What other uses for rope are there? Let's hammer this out so that the devs can get everything in that we want to do with our ropes! π€ͺ This is, of course, a joke, but I, uh, still would love to see other people's ideas for rope. Samwise Gamgee sure thought it was important. π

I feel the initial plan was to have rope be more versatile but that's A) got to be nigh impossible to program and B) would unbalance a lot of the traversal. Some of those challenges (reaching the underdark and navigating it) are my favorite, and I really feel rope would have cheapened some of that. On the whole totally agree with the initial disappointment, but I also see why it wasn't included. Excellent work as always Jack!
