[AD-FREE] The Much-Needed Return of Physical Media | Firelink Podcast

This week on Firelink, we're chatting about digital vs physical media.
Once publishers figured out that they could "just patch" games after release, it went a LONG way towards creating the situation that we are in today. No. Having a physical release on day one would go a LONG way toward encouraging a complete as possible release on day one. This was never a huge problem until relatively recent history. It's just lazy to release a game before it's ready. We have to fight against the continued normalization of what are essentially "day one beta releases".

i'd like if companies didn't launch games with physical releases since every game now comes out with a ton of bugs without the day one patch
companies should wait like 2 or 3 months to do a physical release so people won't have to download a huge patch when they get their game

I love having a physical library. Digital is fine if I can also get physical copies. If I didn't have physical copies of some of my games, they would just be gone
