The Rise and Fall of Video Game Titles | Semi-Ramblomatic

It's about time we had a little refresher on how to title a game. As the year draws to a close and I go over the usual shower of bastards that were this year's releases, the sheer soporific blandness of a title like "Lords of the Fallen" really stands out. What is it with all the rising and falling these days?

Second Wind sounds like an after-fart. I approve!

Ah, another episode of "Lords of Ramblomatic: second wind rising" fantastic

Yahtz: "Seems like no one wants to come to a dryheave pit no more." Me: "You're not thinking of getting rid of the dryheave, are you Yahtz?" Yahtz: "Yeah, maybe." Me: "But the dryheave, Yahtz, the dryheave!"

strongly disagree on Prey 2017 I found it very memorable and not "forgettable" at all.

Everyone else is ok admitting video-games are a readily exchangeable commodity. And nothing separates Candy Crush from Dark Souls, to the collective consciousness. What we should be getting to is why are so many passionate people shoved in the basement of a place like Blizzard to work for slank wages.

Awesome Content, with Accurate Coinage and À-propos Considerations

I would hazard a guess that they really like games that start with A because they end up nearer the front of shelf where people start looking.

Fun as always. I can only imagine how long it's been on Yahtzee's list of daily irritations. Anyone have any exceptions to these rules? I'd argue that Matrix Reloaded is actually a good title since the Matrix is something that actually can be reloaded (both as a program and as a gun). All its bad imitators simply took the title and ran with it without context. The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth title for its expansion also worked since "rebirth" directly recalls the game's gross and particular focus on a child's fear of siblings/being born/existence and death.

They definitely weren’t Passing Wind haha

Lord_Frostfinger

Well the escapist is really breaking wind nowadays, so maybe that

Lilbobchicago

First Wind was the Escapist. Second Wind is now. In between, when everything fell apart, was Breaking Wind.

While we're on the subject of titles then, "Second Wind". Sounds like a sequel to me, what was the First Wind? 😜
