So in Formula One, a pit stop usually lasts 2-3 seconds since refueling was banned in 2010. Some have actually done sub-2 second stops! The footage of the yellow car being destroyed is actually real footage of Martin Donnelly’s horror crash which happened in 1990. Donnelly actually gave the producers permission to use this footage for the film and was given credit for it. As for the thing on the road which caused Josh Pearce to have his scary accident is called a Sausage Kerb, which is a controversial speed bump found on many road courses in hopes to keep drivers from going off track, but this has caused bad accidents and/or injuries in mainly open wheel events.

2025-10-17 13:32:11 +0000 UTCI know you both would enjoy this film! F1 was the first film I saw in theaters in over 2 1/2 years and it turned out to be one of the most fun films I have ever seen. So the 24 Hour race you saw at the beginning is known as the Rolex 24 (Hours) at Daytona International Speedway, which is a sports car event.
