Charge Up Front

Okee, so I mentioned this before in previous posts, and they finally allowed me the option to do it and I will most likely be taking it.

Why are you taking this option?

      Because I have had SEVERAL people/bots whatever, jump in on a tier only to pull their pledge before the month is over, skewing the number on my page, confusing people as to why certain goals weren't met at the very end, skewing my estimations for the month... all that... only to jump right back in after patreon is done charging people for the month. When they do this, it still shows up as a patron that can count into my monthly amount, where as if you are declined it won't boost that number up or anything because it doesn't count the patron. I have to go in and find these accounts and delete them... usually I send them a message to make sure it isn't actually someone who's payment messed up or something, give them a week to reply then if they don't, they're gone. All in all, the bots and the people who are in it to try and scrape free content can get really irritating, to say the least.

What does that mean for existing patrons?

      Not a whole lot. Existing patrons will still be charged at the end of the month just as you usually are. Basically I can switch to this option tomorrow and nothing will change for you if you keep your pledge where it is.

      If you change your pledge amount, you will be charged the difference immediately. So lets say you're a 5 dollar patron and you want to change to a 10 dollar patron, you will be charged the 5 dollars right there and immediately be considered a 10 dollar patron and get 10 dollar rewards.  Then you will be charged, as usual, at the end of each month for the 10 dollars just as if you came in at 10. If you decrease your pledge amount, you will be charged for the new amount at the end of the month, as usual.

What does that mean for NEW patrons?

      This is where the big difference comes in. If you are just now deciding to become a patron and jump onto a pledge, you will be charged up front, which means you will immediately start receiving that month's rewards! So even if you jump in in the middle of June, you can still get the pinup, weekly wips from june, and whatever else applies to your tier. So you will start getting your rewards faster! This will also take away the ability to "sample" my patreon. So where as usually someone can jump in on a pledge tier, view patron only content, this will no longer be available.  While I understand the appeal and benefit of sampling, people have ruined it by making bots to steal content.

In closing.

I will be putting this new feature in to play by the end of this week. This will not affect existing patrons unless you bump up your pledge amount. So if you want to jump in to get a headshot this month, you have the ability to, or if you want the extras from the pinup, you can get that stuff immediately. For any possible new patrons, WELCOME!
