The last time I watched this movie was in the theater in 1999. It's funny, I loved the cartoon in the 80s, but thought this movie was too goofy and the "bad kind" of corny Disney everyone accuses everything they currently create of being. (current qualities being quality writing, emotional acting, fantastic stunt work and VFX) This is NOT most of that, but I will say that of course Stan Winston's effect work here is still phenomenal for a silly movie and a talking car who sounds like D. L. Hughley. I guess I expected an Inspector Gadget movie on a "The Dark Knight" level back in 1999. And HOW ON EARTH could they change Claw into a person who's face we actually see? Way to ruin a villain. People who insult The Acolyte should watch THIS and understand what TRUE DUMB Disney filmmaking is. No offence, but it only exists to remember cartoon references and have good for 1998 CGI.
