2024-01-23 00:47:20 +0000 UTCThe medic that treats Captain Philips at the end is a real medic not an actress. She was brought in to give some realism to the film, the director felt it added more to movie if an actual medic was treating Hanks’ character as a real patient.

2024-01-20 00:24:38 +0000 UTCI remember this event. I was 18 when it happened. The news was talking about it nonstop. Then the pirates got shot, the captain was saved, and that was that. I didn't realize what a tense situation it was until this movie came out. And I am not certain, but I'm pretty sure after this incident, they enacted measures that insured better security and protection on transport and cargo ships, so they aren't helpless against pirate attacks.

2024-01-19 05:27:21 +0000 UTCViki is a BAD ASS! She knew how to disarm those pirates. Hit them, kick them and throw an elbow into them. Also, the plant they are eating is called KHAT. it is a stimulant much like coffee but also gives you a sense of euphoria much like the coca leaf.
