2023-01-29 20:49:11 +0000 UTCThe ending, Chief Bromden escaping into the horizon, is one of my favorite endings in all of movies. For some reason this movie really hit me when I first saw it, I was in the Army and at a very low point in my life, for a lot of reasons. Seeing him break out, even now, I remember how I felt then and why I needed to feel that freedom at the time. Of course I always joke that as the camera fades he is immediately tackled by staff and returned to the ward, because I have a dark sense of humor lol, but really I always imagine him somehow going back to nature and being, well I guess just being himself.
