Top Gun Reaction

I just saw the new one a few days ago. You girls are going to LOVE IT. The flying in this it is as real as what you saw in the original movie. And Tom Cruise has still got it.

Superb reaction! Even the last three or four minutes of banter at the end, with Ellie & Mish expressing just how much pleasure they got from watching the film, was charming by itself.A big thank-you, to both girls.

While Tom cruise has flown planes in the past ( p-51 propeller fighter plane, and a few helicopters ) The navy did NOT grant him access to fly the f-18 fighter jet's used in the film. As it boasts a price tag of roughly $70 million and they would never insure him for such a feat, and also it would have been half the budget of the entire movie $152 million, But he is in the plane every time they fly which is amazing, But yes the actual flying was performed by qualified Navy pilots and Stunt people. Still can't wait for that reaction gonna be amazing :)

When you watch the new top gun. Everything and I MEAN EVERYTHING was actually shot using real jets by pilots doing real stunts. There is NO CGI in the new movie. Its all real and super damn amazing. Tom Cruise wanted to make sure people knew that the actors actually went up in these jets to film their scenes. Tom cruise actually flies his own plane in the movie, but wont spoil what it is or why. I also served on the ship they filmed the new movie on. I wasnt there the whole time but I saw some of the action IRL. Was really damn cool. The new Top Gun is one of those rare movie where there was NO cgi and is in fact better than the original. Also Val Kilmer battling throat cancer, he can no longer speak so seeing him in the new top gun was emotional.
