Serial killer Richard Ramirez (Night Stalker) was on death row for 23 years , but died of B-cell lymphoma from hepatitis C. Another Scott Peterson killed his pregnant wife , body was found in San Francisco Bay. He spent 15 years on death row , and then his sentence got reduced to life.

It wouldn't be fair to say it was a pleasure to watch those heart-breaking final scenes with them, but it was thoroughly moving and touching.
