Your reactions were great. I laughed with you more than a couple of times. But the best moment was when you said the Alien was looking for something to eat like Chick Filet. 2021-06-19 16:15:00 +0000 UTCRight? You have you idea how much I’ve been wanting the Homies to react to *actual* Horror films. (Enter BLUE) The Horror genre is literally my favorite thing ever: literature, films, TV shows, etc. It’s the best genre and the most influential throughout the history of narrative storytelling, (mythology & folklore). In the last ~10-15 years alone, there has been so many legitimate masterpiece Horror films released…but *the vast majority of them weren’t made by a big Hollywood studio, (or even in an English speaking country), so they are constantly overlooked.* The good news is that people are starting to “catch-up” as everything has been moved to streaming platforms & it’s a lot more common for the average person to stumble upon an international and/or horror film they otherwise wouldn’t ever know existed. It’s also pretty great that “Parasite” won the 2019 Oscar for Best Picture — because IT IS A HORROR FILM whether people think of it as one or not — and it’s a great way to introduce any ‘international-cinema-neophyte’ to the wonderfully deranged world of South Korean Cinema. But I digress…for now, I’ll gladly settle for Blue watching the classics such as Alien (but hopefully not the James Cameron “sequel” which is literally just a re-make of the same movie only without the horror and every kind of Hollywood cheese dialogue stuffed in between the scenes that aren’t explosions etc.) Here’s to hoping we get plenty more Horror reactions from Blue! 2021-06-18 21:55:06 +0000 UTCGreat reaction Blue, welcome to the channel !! - The movie 2001 A Space Odyssey came out in 1968 and created a trend in sci-fi movies for very long slow dramatic story telling and exploration of space and technology. A number of movies that came after that used this trope to showcase the space ship and operations, including Alien and Star Trek the Motion Picture. It certainly creates a lot of tension, but is a bit too drawn out by today's standards. Ripley ( Sigourney Weaver ) is widely considered one of the best female characters in sci-fi because she is so smart, brave, strong willed, and grounded. The next movie Aliens is a great sequel which picks up where this movie left off. I look forward to watching many more reactions with you !!
