2023-03-19 07:47:36 +0000 UTCAthelstan is so revered because he was a highly intelligent, good and moral man who showed courage through great adversity and displayed adaptability. He was also a charismatic guy, good looking etc. He was very useful as he spoke Norse and Old English and Latin. Floki while a fun character and someone who genuinely loved Ragnar was consumed by jealousy and bitterness which was why he killed Athelstan, he believed that he deserved more love than a Christian 'enemy' like Athelstan.

Ragnar did not believe that if a person is a Christian, then he should be killed, just as athelstan did not believe that if a person is a pagan then he should be killed, they were more advanced people for their time

2021-04-27 20:16:47 +0000 UTCI don’t understand why you didn’t like athelstan, he is the most positive character, he was alien to deceit, envy and violence, he showed everyone that Christians, pagans and anyone else can live in peace and help each other p.s Ragnar hit his wife because she believed that the floki did the right thing to kill athelstan, but he was Ragnar's best friend and this is a real betrayal, considering that he killed him not because of the gods, but simply because he was jealous
