2021-04-21 01:09:01 +0000 UTCMy perspective as a black American is that racism is still an issue, but it is certainly not as bad as it was even 30 years ago. There is a serious issue with racial profiling by police - which the show displayed in one of the earlier episodes. There is also a history of black people not being able to get fair loans from banks - although I agree that Falcon would be able to make a lot of money in the USA as a military or security contractor. I think the current USA would accept a black Captain America but it is realistic that an older black person, who has experienced severe racism, would not believe that is true. Generally speaking, most politically liberal Americans (80-90% of black Americans are Democrats) believe that racism against black people is a problem. Many politically conservatives do not believe that is the case.

2021-04-18 17:30:30 +0000 UTCThe U.S. is quite bad with racism. Even though we had a black president, a lot of people didn’t like it. A lot of people in America would also not like having someone of color represent their country. It’s messed up.
