Interesting concept, as uplifting a civilization presents a lot of opportunity for things to go off the rails from a social standpoint. I guess the question of just how vast the developmental/technological gap is for the various races is important. Jump a species a few decades ahead of where they are, complications would be minimal. Advance them a few centuries, and it's an entirely different situation.
