The loose idea for her rifle I had was some kind of gauss style electric rail thing. When I write stories, I don't tend to think of the specifics of "things" in the world first. They're kind of just symbols for ability at first.

2020-04-07 20:40:02 +0000 UTCOne bit of future-BS to consider is some kind of lockdown mechanism for the armor (powered or not) of the improvised nest. While a projectile from a gauss/railgun could have enough velocity that neither drop or windage could appreciably affect things, lining up the shot on an unstable platform might be hell. Heck, if you want to go truly crazy high tech, have this pairing be the standard sniper/spotter pairing, and have their armor capable of synching together, to optimize stability when such a setup is needed.
