Hey y'all. This is sort of a blog update, and sort of just me needing to talk (what else is new lol).
So, first and foremost, I wanted to announce that I have decided to resign from Glow. If you've been around here the last 6 months or longer, you probably know what I'm talking about. But if you don't-- Glow is a start up company that Rowdy and I were working with to build interactive stories called "plays". They were essentially, webcomic-meets-dating sim style games, where you got to make choices for the characters and would eventually woo the love interest. At first we were going to make TLLT plays, and then decided that it would be a better idea to make a brand new story. That story was called "A Sight for Sore Eyes". (You can go back and find the posts about it if you want) and it had just recently launched. I'm sorry to say that, I've come to the conclusion that the effort and time going into it, is not serving beneficial for me right now. My plate is too full, and my hearts not in it.
I know it was a brand new thing to you guys, and I didn't spent a lot of time with those characters, but I do hope those of you who were invested in the story aren't disappointed. It was always meant to be an experimental thing-- so it is what it is.
With that, I'll just say, I'm working VERY hard right now to get back onto a weekly posting schedule with TLLT. I don't have a buffer, so i can't 100% say I'm back to posting every 7 days, but I'm getting closer-- and so far so good lol. The last couple weeks I've managed it.
And last thing I want to talk about it, is some fun/good news. I got a new tablet! I literally went out and bought it yesterday. It's a windows Surface Pro tablet, and it's suuuuper nice. The reason I got this is because I've been using an "old" style drawing tablet for the last 10 years, and I think it's become a bit TOO comfortable for me. I want to grow as an artist-- expand and learn and not be afraid to try new things-- but I can't do that if I'm only ever using the same program and the same tools that I always have.
So, this is me entering an "ugly duckling" phase. I'm going to be taking some time to really get comfortable with Clip Studio, and a lot of my patreon bonus art will probably be done in that program. Hopefully this wont mean that I'm going to be working ultra slowly... but if my posts feel a little more spread out than normal, that's why lol. I'll also probably be experimenting more with comic formatting stuff, character design, etc.
As you know, I'm thinking a LOT about the next story that will come after TLLT, and if that's where my creative juices are flowing I don't want to stifle them, so... you'll be seeing a lot more of Harver and Keplan I'm sure lol. This doesn't mean I won't still be making extra artwork of the TLLT gang though-- and if you guys ever have suggestions of stuff you wanna see please do let me know. I'm open to requests big time right now (because it'll challenge me!).
------
This artwork of Harver and Keplan was drawn entirely in Clip Studio ^^^ and I'd love to know if you guys can tell the difference between it and my normal Paint Tool SAI artworks??? I know the textured background color is different, but as for the drawing of them... what do you think??? Anything note worthy???
