Laugh a Little More
Added 2023-07-04 16:35:56 +0000 UTCI've had a weird last couple days smh lol. First my laptop crashed on me and freaked me out... I've been wanting to get a new laptop for a while now, but been putting it off because of the cost. Thankfully I didn't lose anything important when it crashed, but it did scare me enough to go get a new laptop later that day. And it's great! I love it-- it's super nice and clear and the vibrancy of the screen makes drawing a lot easier. So that's good! :)
After that I found a wasps nest in the corner of my porch... and had to figure out how to handle that (long story short, wasp spray in the dead of night, an ambush, and about 15 fried bugs i swept off the balcony).
Then, I had a friend reach out to me and say she wanted to set me up on a lowkey double date with a coworker of hers. (This never happens to me!)
I painted my nails (all black #Judas) for the first time since I was like ten years old. They look kinda bad but make me happy LOL.
And finally, I realized I had zero desire to celebrate any kind of 4th of July this year. So, instead of giving you guys a cute holiday artwork, I decided to give you Beau and Sage having a rare moment of bliss <3 It takes a lot to get Beau laughing hard... but we deserve to see it. Ahaha~ (I originally sketched this out without Dirt... but what can I say? I'm a sucker for them as parents).

2023-07-09 11:10:42 +0000 UTCNot All Wasps! I'm told that yellowjackets are nasty, but the carpenter wasps and paper wasps that occasionally make little nests at my place have been chill as. I walked up to one nest (not knowing what it was): one bumped me twice (flew into me) and then flew off, one just flew off, one just stood on the nest facing me. I've occasionally looked at them from a few feet away with no trouble at all. A *hummingbird* was more aggressive to me once than all these wasps. (Huītzilōpōchtli, the Aztec war god of sacrifice and patron of the Aztecs, had a name based on their word for "hummingbird". The Aztecs knew what o'clock it was.)
