Changes in $20 reward tiers
Added 2018-08-10 01:34:54 +0000 UTCI won't give out much info on this. The less people know of the details the better in cases like this. Some asshat has been leaking my early access stuff again. And the host of such stolen content is infamous for finding legal loopholes in order to stay up.
So here's what I would like to do. In order to make sure thieves and bots think twice before pledging money to me in order to leak stuff, I would like to add another reward to the $20 pledge tier in which patrons get 4 week early access to finished content. I know this seems extreme, but I am at a loss of what to do here. Here would be my options otherise:
- I can try and go through the long process of releasing watermarked and unwatermarked content to 50/50 percent of the $1 tier population and see which type of content gets leaked and gradually whittle it down until I find the person responsible and block them only for them to come back and re-pledge $1 to do it all again.
- I can try and file numerous DMCA takedown notices and go through a shitton of legal proceedings and likely spend a shitton of money in the courts.
- Or I can increase the 2 week early access to $2 instead of $1 and risk an uproar of patrons.
I figured making a higher tier more appealing for earlier access would cause the leakers to think twice at the very least. I know it's not a perfect solution, but I'm at my wits end here.
Overall, in order to try and combat this, I want to add stuff instead of take away stuff.

Would the $1 patrons be ok with a shorter "early" access? It might cause a few to drop support bit likely it will be the leader that leaves in the first handful.

The only real way your gonna keep your stuff from being shared is by getting on board with sites like affect3d where people pay for the action. In any case, I'd pay 2 bucks no worries

2018-08-10 02:00:09 +0000 UTCFor what it's worth - and I'm sure I speak for a few of your patrons - I pledged to you because I'm just in awe of your immense talent. Sure, early access is nice, but it isn't the reason I drop $20 on you every month. You do outstanding work that deserves compensation, and I think the vast majority of your patronage pledges what they do for that exact reason. In a nutshell, I believe in what you do, and what I pay you is my way of saying "thanks." There's always gonna be somebody around to cock up literally *anything* you do, and it's up to you to decide what you will or won't do about it. If you just keep doing what you do so amazingly well, I honestly think the good will outweigh the bad that the select few can serve up to you.
