Blade of Detection: Art (PNGs)

Greetings All!

Balancing wise, it’s an experiment as most things shoe-horned into common are. At its barest of bones, it can be any type of blade/sword and it gives off a candle glow whenever exposed to magic. What that magic is or where it is located is unknown to the player. Yes, it is triggered by other magic items and part members so it could just end up a night light.

If you think it is too powerful, the Short Circuit can easily be lowered to a 2nd level spell. Making it even more of a warning system. It’s getting some playtesting and molding before the Patreon upload. I picked and chose what type of 2nd sword to squeeze in for swordtember. This is Origin/Mythological.

Description:

These simple yet effective blades were popular among traders of the isles for centuries. After losing numerous trade caravans and shipments to treacherous magics, these were offered to be an early warning system to those woes.  While being simple bronze blades, they are decorated with an infused and wire-wrapped powdered tin near the hilt. It is this coated tin that gives it the ability to subtly glow in the presence of magic.

Tabs:

• If a magical effect is present within a 30ft radius of this blade. It will produce a soft orange glow that sheds Bright Light for a 5ft Radius, and Dim Light for an additional 5ft. It will continue to produce light until the effect or effects are no longer within 30ft of the blade.
  • This property can be triggered by Spells, Magical Items, Ongoing Effects, or any lingering magics of the GM’s choosing.
• Short Circuit: If the magical property is a spell above 4th Level, the GM may roll a 1d6 once per round that the sword is exposed to this effect. On a 6, the magical effects will short circuit the sword causing a short burst of bright bright light to a 30ft radius. Then leaving the blade inert, the blade then loses both properties, until the next dusk.
