Thoughts & Prayers: One-Sided.

Greetings All!

This was submitted by patron Zach Williamson! This was very basic in submission with base damage and a loose premise. This had quite a few tweaks to get it to here, though the base damage and premise is still solidly maintained.

These additional tweaks being the charges, effects, activations, and the little addition of Guidance.

Who doesn’t love a little more Guidance. This brings Patreon Submitted week to a close, as with all other items this week the Patreon & Discord helped create these items!

Dual Card: While there is a dual card, it doesn’t read as smoothly as the separated version but its still viable. It just isn’t as easy to communicate the off hand vs main hand for which damage applies.

Description:

These gem studded knuckle dusters have a distinctively colorful -albeit tall- tale of an origin. The story goes that a modest monk of a small monastery grew tired of the passive approach to assisting their flock. A blacksmith by trade, they smelted down dusty relics and formed this pair. Taking a two fisted approach to the problems, they forged tales in the process.

Tabs: Thoughts

• If worn with Prayers, the user gains access to guidance cantrip as a known spell.
• When worn, the user gains a +2 to Attack and Damage Rolls of Unarmed Strikes, and these knuckles convert the damage dealt to Psychic Damage.
• This weapon shares its Attunement Slow with its paired mate, Prayers, and a shared Charge Pool of 4 Charges. These knuckles regain 1d4 Charges over a Dawn, and they can be expended in the following ways.
  • What If?:  1 Charge, as a Bonus Action, the user gains 1d4 Psychic Damage to strikes made with these weapons, lasting 1 minute or until dismissed.
  • Aghast: 2 Charges, as an Action (Requires Prayers) the user slams the knuckles together, generating a shockwave. All creatures besides the user within a 20ft radius must make a DC:16 Dexterity saving throw. A creature takes 5d6 Radiant Damage and 5d6 Psychic Damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.
