State of the Dungeon: June 2021!

Greetings All!

Some of you might not have experienced a ‘State of the Dungeon,’ but I am now in a place where I can share. While things mentioned in this newsletter aren’t set in stone, they are goals that I am striving for. So I am thrilled to have you along for the ride.

Patreon Exclusives: These will 100% continue. I love that I have content just for us and want to continue to bring that forward.

New Layouts: The work on the next point has led to a new evolution of the card layouts. While just the borders of the Boxed & One-Sided were affected, larger changes came to the Two-Sided. This includes a new front layout and the removal of long edge borders, allowing for up to a 10% Font Size increase in some sections.

Kickstarter: It turns out that these are rather involved, and I don’t want to flop. After a near panic from lack of progress, I gave myself some room and called in some help from other creators and experts, which has led to where I am now. If advertiser’s fall into place, I should be looking at a mid August Launch. (“But Hos, you’ve been pushing it back for months” - Someone probably.) I know. It's gone from March to May to August, because this is a make or break for me. If this is successful, I can do this full time and line up a whole lot of good things for the next chapter of D.S.

What’s changed?

• I have secured a Printer who is far more responsive, making me feel much safer.
• I have a fulfillment partner and have begun talks with Backerkit.
• I have advertisers and friends lined up to share and spread the word. Which is huge, because my current reach is not going to cut it.
• I have created the mock-ups and have been refining them. They are attached so you can check them out!
• I have 3 Decks laid out, with the possibilities of a 4th and 5th if we shoot the moon.

Discord: 100% hop in. You get sneak peaks at all of these items and designs, because I am bouncing ideas in there constantly! I’ve made it my nesting ground for creation.

Edits and Proofs: All Patrons have access to this channel. Witness my basic word fumblings and struggles.

Tier Expansions: These are intended post Kickstarter or as able leading up.

• $8 Smiters: I am striving towards 3 Items designed by Patrons per month, hopefully making up a whole week. This is the tier that already votes on items, so it will have a special submission form as well as a vote over the selected items.
• $10 Versatiles: A Compendium. This has been a struggle for me to fit into a schedule. Therefore, I have budgeted out the base build so that I am able to build and maintain myself.
• $12 - $20: These are still on the table but no solid plans yet I want to make sure I can fulfill the previously mentioned commitments before expanding more.

VTT & Roll20: The Updates for the KS should lead directly into the adaption for the digital versions. I am planning one as a stretch goal and one as a later launch, these are big moves, but this will be a paid conversion. I want to learn, but the time investments are killing my creation goals, and making more for you all takes precedence.
