Devblog - 5/24/2025

Hello folks! Just giving y'all a heads up on how development is going so far and what you can expect for the next update. This devblog contains some slight visual spoilers, but worry not, I've set them all behind Imgur links so you won't be flashbanged by them unless you click on the links!

The next update is a small one that focuses on Sidd and Calder's scenes at the 14th Laboratory. I'm estimating the update to total to around 7,000 words and am currently aiming to release the build by the end of the month.

Progress so far:

As of today, I've completed the following art assets:

• 3 new sprite animations and 4 new sprite artworks for Sidd: (MINOR SPOILER)

• 3 new sprite animations and 2 new sprite artworks for Calder: (MINOR SPOILER)

• 7 new sprite artworks for the Fragments: (MAJOR SPOILERS)

  • (Some of the the Fragment sprites will not be used in this update and will show up later in the Artemi + Maeve lab scenes)

Some of you may have already saw me rambling about this on Bluesky, but over the past few months, I've been learning to animate in Moho Pro and exporting the animations as compressed and transparent WEBM files. This allows me to make more complex animations than before and also further reduce the file sizes need to implement them in the Renpy engine. All 3 new Calder animations together only take up 933KB. This opens up a lot of exciting opportunities for new animations in Temptation's Ballad and I'm super stoked to show more of the TB squad in motion >:3

I still need to finish the following art assets to complete the update:

• 1 background artwork.

• 1 or 2 CG illustrations.

I'm hoping to get everything done by the end of next week and get the update out to y'all ASAP. Thank you all for your continued support and patience. I'm super grateful to be able to work on Temptation's Ballad bring my stories to life, and I wouldn't be able to do it without all of you <3 <3 <3
