This page dropped the day after I was discharged from 5 days in the ICU following a lesson in the forbidden strike "Chevy-flips-the-cyclist". This update + the last flanking my stay in the hospital (which lasted as many days as Solomon forecast for White-Chain's healing) feels particularly auspicious to me. There are a few smaller & sillier parallels as well: I laughed out loud reading WC embracing "being crushed upon the wheel" given the differently-wheel-related cause of my own injuries, and I received a laceration across the throat of the tattoo of Sidhartha Gautama The Buddha I have on my left arm, which is now irrevocably also an image of Maya-Ten-Meti, Methangi, Murder The Gods & Topple Their Thrones. This accident has left me with some pretty serious injuries (the laceration above is perhaps the least concerning), but spiritually I am feeling my Atum flaring steadily, plentifully, & hotter than i could have possibly imagined. I've been reading this comic for years, discovered I was a trans woman during that time, and have often looked to Prim, WC, & Alyson as sources of inspiration and strength during periods of hardship, which have been no stranger to me these last 2-3 years in particular. I've been meditating on the messages in this work for a long time, but feel that I've finally received, survived, and trounced the kick in the ass i needed to convert that understanding out of the intellectual sphere, into a raw, unwavering, bodily & spiritual drive to tear at The Wheel with my footsteps. Thank you Tom, for your art, and for the strange magic that art works in the world around us.

2024-09-13 00:10:57 +0000 UTCThe speech bubble on the inset in panel 6 on page 2 ("I think... perhaps that is the natural state of things") looks like it's coming from Solomon rn, but I think the tail is intended to connect to White Chain? Everything else looks kickass as always I just wanted to check I wasn't misreading that
