Repeat 0.5.3 (May.17.2017)

Hello folks! I'm sorry for how off-schedule things have been lately. The peeps who follow me on Twitter probably already know, but I was in China for the past 3 weeks visiting family.  I had this update bright and ready, but sadly China blocks many of the websites I needed to use to update Repeat, hence the delay. Again, sorry!

Hopefully the fact that this update is like 3x the size of my regular updates makes up for my tardiness. I also experimented with a few different scene structure techniques in the later parts of this update to create a more varied experience. I hope you all enjoy, and I look forward to your feedback!

I was very funny the scene that Owen fleeing through the window. It made everything become comedy dramatically XD.

It's a pity Samuel can't be romanced, he's hot, and I've seen he can be quite sweet and caring too...

PaleAngel_90

There is no point system, but the results of certain actions are tracked and used to determine certain results later in the story.

Shirokoi

Just out of curiosity, is there a point system for this game? Like will certain actions go towards different dialogue and scenes like other visual novels?

Good job

Kyan Zero The Real

I love your use of the music from Bloodborne. It's surprisingly fitting.

*is dead from the beginning and the end*

I can't wait for the next full season of this visual novel

Loving the Bloodborne music

Buuuuu, the there's only a windows version, not an overall PC one like all the other novels have. Alright, i know we have Wine Windows compatibility layer, but having a native Linux launcher is literary only a one click away. Just select "Linux x86/x86_64" in the "Build Distributions" menu, and boom, you have a Linux launcher included in the game files on the next export c: (It's in the Windows files so don't worry if it makes a separate zip, just ignore it) Keep up the good work and I hope to see an .sh launcher in the next update :P

*run out of words again about this update, since you're not allow me to crossover Repeat*

Your actions in redoing a significant part of the game are very admirable. A lot of developers would just brush off any issues. Seeing your art and writing improve has been amazing. You've come a long way since you started, and with each update you get better and better. One thing though, I'd recommend you switch over to a different distribution platform sometime in the future. MediaFire is full of ads and it throttles downloads so that they take much longer than they should.

Really loved this update and the edits to Samuel's role. Each update just gets better and invests me that much more into these characters. Thanks for another great addition, Shiro! P.S. I also got the strange exception Liam Lindsay mentioned above when Leila speaks to Euca right at the end.

MrTrufax

Was the Forest Life Remix always in this game? I just noticed it!!

Greenzangoose28

Oh are all the 9 new CGs on owns route? O.o

Leafside

In the code of the game there seems to be an error when Leila is talking to Euca and Echo

I know the feeling of using internet in China all too well. So many things you like to use are blocked, and everything else moves at a snail's pace. So damn frustrating. Anyway, a pleasant surprise to see such a long update. Looks like my suspicions about the Loreleis' motives were confirmed. Interesting to see this new take on Owen and Samuel's relationship, and it really helps Owen's character shine through. He's still hampered by his indecisiveness and aversion to facing his problems head-on, but has been forced to face them by circumstance, and make uncomfortable decisions, and it shows with how nervous and reluctant he is. Also, good that Samuel's not a suspect in Heather's death this time around. He never did strike me as the kind of person to be able to betray her in such a way. Then again, I'm sure there's more to him than meets the eye. Exceptionally good writing in this update as well, a true emotional rollercoaster. I was laughing at their encounter in the first half (bonus points for that Scott Pilgrim reference, by the way), the phone call scene was brought out the warm fuzzies, and the last scene was probably the most heartbreaking one in the story so far. I always did think that Owen was the most tragic character in the story, partly because he seemed to be the only main character who didn't have a wish looking after him, even though he could really use one. I also really like how Euca acts in this route of the story. Rather than being the well-intentioned but empty-headed friend whose screwups keep causing trouble in the Sissel route, he does seem to be more cautious about what he does, a much-needed voice of reason for Owen, and ready to work with both Owen and Samuel to reconcile them. He does work well as the neutral party in his friends' disputes. Great update, and good to see you're still trucking on.

I would like some choclate with my tea as well... By the way, I was snickering for way too long at the slight spelling mistake.

I must say, this was a really heart-moving update. Make you really wanna see the relationship with Owen's family start to flower again. No pun intended heh.
