Sorry for the delay, I have been basically preparing myself for the end of Win 10 support. I did train a little before when I burn my pc, but for sure there is a different feeling now that it is kind of more permanent.
The main thing with Linux is that you can do a lot of things at the cost of change some of the software you are comfortable with to do it, in some cases (phtoshop, adobe, office and some games) yes... you must say good bye to this, but there is some sort of freedom once you get a bit use to this.
Most of the time spend the last week was all about changing some of my main files from CSP(Clip Studio Paint) - PSD (Photoshop) - KRA (Krita) it was around 1500 files to do the backup (the hardest part for sure) before nuking my pc, I must say that in some way I'm not scare because in general I'm more angry about the whole situation with the changes happening around the Internet.
Illustrators have been hit with AI first, basically allowing people to actually steal the work of a life from a person (a real crime if you think about it) to then sell the robbed goods or even worst to scam others in various ways (another kind of real crime), then with the censorship, regulations, an many other bad decisions that have shown already the dangers of play with an ecosystem like this.
In my country things aren't that different it seems like we all are going in this direction, and this is something that is always getting in my way, with regulations that makes no sense (and I mean with this that they are not clear, TOS are sometimes so open that you don't know if you are doing something wrong or against them) and lack of participation from business to stop this, and from people to protest against this, in general everyone just comply to keep going and it enrages me that this just mean as an individual to be drag with the flow.
What does this mean? Nothing have change on the content side, like I said I’m going to tone down my content (if you are curious about this take look at my request guidelines ) and washing down the mature post (my idea on this is from each 5 post 1 contain fetish bondage topics and under my guidelines) but in the way I post I will probably star using encryption methods when using cloud systems to share files that aren’t compatible with the platforms.
Why? This is not something new, as many people know a lot of cloud systems are using AI to blind check on the information that is inside its services and I don’t trust this, because they offer you privacy, security and also in many times you get misjudge (we have cases like Naoki Saito who lost a whole youtube channel under this situation).
For the record, NO this doesn’t mean I’m going to hide things from the TOS, this means that if I use any encryption method for specific files (for example the blender models or image files that can’t fit for any reason in the post) I’m going to leave the code to decrypt the information in the respective post (following the guidelines that I did following the TOS).
Commissions, at the moment there is a huge thing going on alerting creators and commissioners from using this word when it comes to requesting some work, I’ve been reading many cases and while I do believe in creators I kind of believe too in the services that they use (mostly because I’m aware that people don’t read the TOS, please be careful with those conditions) and it leaves me in a 50/50 believe that the fault is in both sides, so if you want to do a commission from now on I will only accept them trough third party services to avoid troubles, at the moment I just have the Request system from Pixiv available you can check this at my Pixiv profile.
Following up this is my idea of workflow:
*Finish my 3d model (I’m currently working on the rigging refine once finished I will post a 1.0 version to help people that is into drawing hopefully).
*Use this 3d model to do studies of poses in 360° (thinking of people that is trying to draw specific angles).
*To develop a solid clean sketch for the request (not only speed wise, but also to have a defined product at the end of sketching).
*Measure the amount of time that takes me to go from sketch to a full render (so I can have a clear idea of how many of this I can do at a constant base).
*Side projects (this will be run aside the things listed above) 3d sculpture of Darkness (one action pose version and one mature pose under the TOS), a guide with things that I’ve been solving with Linux Mint from the Illustration side (in case I can help anyone getting out from windows) and a basic guide to encrypt/decrypt a file using Veracrypt (so my users can have access to the files I post).
So for now I’m doing a bit of administrative work while adjusting the pc to work as it should and I should be able get back on track by the end of the week, without anything else to say I hope everyone is ok stay safe
