šŸ”„Cinderella Gray EP 22-23 (Finale)

Dang! Somebody get Soccer boy a medic lol that's crazy. Sounds like Inari might be a way bigger challenge than Tamamo, why the short ones gotta be the craziest racers. "Mr. CB the greatest mistake to exist" lol shouldve been his headline.

jay K

Ooh Super creek is about to shine too, I could tell Inari One is about to be a big problem of S2

jay K

Season 2 is gonna focus on the Heisei Big 3. OGURII CAP, SUPER CREEK & INARI ONE

Kiyo

----------------------------- Dicta’s tooth Soccer Boy did indeed break a tooth in addition to the nosebleed. ----------------------------- Penalties Breaking rules can lead to disqualifications as seen here in addition to temporary jockey suspensions. Take had a few notable disqualifications in his early career. ----------------------------- Inari One Inari is actually from the same generation as Tamamo, so she is older than Oguri. Like Oguri, Inari is capable of running on both turf and dirt, but participated in higher level dirt races than Oguri did. ----------------------------- Mr. CB CB achieved the triple crown in 1983, but was overshadowed by Rudolf’s undefeated triple crown in 1984. CB’s birth was a bit of a scandal, as his parents were not supposed to breed with each other. However, the person who authorized the pairing was eventually vindicated by the results. ----------------------------- Tokyo Daishoten While this race is part of the NAR, it is still a big deal, and eventually became the only international G1 under the NAR.

Yeah somewhere halfway through the episode I figured out she's actually not from Kasamatsu. My mix up came from how she was introduced being in Kasamatsu and looking at the Oguri cutout I thought she was from there and coming up like her. Someone told me Oi is a bigger and more recognized city too

jay K

Oh wooow! Fingers crossed they get back to work on cinderella gray they cant leave us hanging like this! I feel like this show blew up so much they'll still prioritize getting it done along with their other series, can't take break while it's still hot. Hoping it's announced, it would be fire to be watching S2 at the same time as everyone else. At least we got PD while we wait

jay K

Wait whaaaat! Why did we all overlook this detail!? Oguri had a crazy US grandpa, that makes a lot of sense, he had to of gotten a lot those genes passed on. Based off what I was hearing I thought Oguri just came from all normal horses. 21/22 wins is an insane record.

jay K

Dicta Striker really shined crazy in this race I almost wanted her to win just because of how competitive she was. Not only fighting through an injury and still hitting her spurt but also being excited that Tama and Oguri hit their zone ahead of her. Yeah her sportsmanship was so cool. Yeah Inari seems to have cheat codes or something she already has her zone lol I can tell she's gonna be a problem cant wait for cour 3. Yeah based off what Im hearing PD S1 is gonna be the toughest push then after that it should be smooooth. I think it'll probably be a good time still, I'm not too strict when it comes to shows, doesn't take too much to keep me entertained witha show so we'll see how it goes. But once we hit S2 I know its up! Cant wait

jay K

Yeah I'm feeling like jumping straight to S1 would be best bet, if I get fed more of this peak content first I might be sleeping in S1, I'm not harsh on shows though I'm sure I'll still find some good in the S1 but once we make it into S2 we'll be good for sure. I'm hoping our upload pace works out with timing correctly for whenever Cour 3 decides to drop, that'd be fire to be watching it along at the same time as everyone else. Dang thats tragic Tama's kids didnt have the same skills. Cour 3 is really gonna be fire to see with this Inaro one character and now that Oguri is at the top seeing her defend that spot as long as she can. So the dirt races are kind of a work around to competing with G1 racers I see. And with playing the Uma game on the phone I've got a broader understanding of dirt v turf, usually horses excel at one or the other. So I'm already seeing if she's going against Oguri is gonna be on the dirt she's gotta beat her at, interesting! Def waiting on Cour 3 to come! 3 trillion off of horse racing, Oguri really changed the game! might have to get me some merch too lol and thanks again for watching this series along with me appreciate the tips the everything yall helped with!

jay K

If that's Tama when his health was declining... yeah I don't think Oguri would want the smoke with full strength Tama, He still made an insane final race with bad health. Guess that competitiveness was still in the horse even when it's harder. Oh wow so he really was declining, I seen some say it was for breeding purposes but it's probably both. Tama is still a beast though! Ima miss her in Cour 3!

jay K

Just imagining a lot of these races in my head I'm knowing even without the dramatics these races are gonna be crazy. I wanna do a compilation to get all the big races done in a single video to react to, cant wait for that too

jay K

They also added ā€œ1988ā€ to the calendar subtitles back in cour 1 even though the calendar clearly doesn’t say ā€œ1988ā€ (this subtitle is removed in some versions)

1:08:45 - They're at Oi, not Kasamatsu that's why the stage is bigger. The first race at the beginning of the episode was in Kasamatsu, but if you notice her outfit was a light blue/aqua as opposed to the dark blue/navy Kasamatsu uniform. Tokyo Tracen has a royal blue/purple color scheme.

HyperFirez

59:55 - The subtitles are so dumb here. Back in 1988 when this race happened, it was 3000m. Today it is now 2000m, but for some reason they used the current length rather than what was literally written on the screen...

HyperFirez

3:24 - I think it will be called Season 2 instead of Cour 3 since Cours are usually 1/2 of a season. That said, Cygames Pictures is doing some re-organization with their studio and were contracted to pickup another series. I'm hoping it won't impact the release cycle of CinGray, but tomorrow they are doing an announcement livestream on their YouTube channel and they may announce an ETA on Season 2. They're confirmed to be talking about the newest upcoming scenario in the JP client "Beyond Dreams" and showing off the design for Forever Young. They also have 3 other VAs that have unannounced Characters associated with them, so tomorrow should have a lot of news for new Uma content.

HyperFirez

Even though people say Oguri’s skill was an anomaly because of his parents, his grandpa was actually one of the best US race horses of all time named Native Dancer. Native Dancer had 22 races with 21 wins and 1 second place finish and was known as the Gray Ghost, which goes along with Oguri’s nickname the Gray Monster lol.

a dumb guy

Got emotional watching these two episodes again - Dicta Striker had such good sportsmanship, such a great competitor and friend. Cant wait to see what's next for Oguri and Super Creek! Inari One also seems interesting, crazy she got a taste of the Zone so early on! Hope you enjoy the three seasons of Pretty Derby next! Without spoilers, S1 may be a bit jarring given that its from an era where the creators were still figuring out what kind of show the series should be and didnt have as much budget, but it still has some great moments! S2 and S3 are very good, with some of the best moments ever for me in the series! Very excited!

What a ride!! Congrats on finishing Cingray Season 1!! Sadly, Season 2 has not been announced and we’re wondering if Cygames has got a different series in mind to produce while Cingray enters the backburner. While I personally would have suggested the Youtube webseries Road to the Top (since it’s the spiritual successor of Cingray), going to Pretty Derby Seasons 1-3 because you want to go by levels of hype makes a ton of sense. Season 1 is by no means a bad season, but rather it’s a platform where Cygames was still figuring out what their plans were (could have been so much more). Here’s some epilogue notes. 1. As stated in the previous post, Tamamo Cross was retired to begin his breeding stud career in hopes that his owner might see his first offspring. Sadly, his owner would pass away mere months before Tamamo’s first children were born. In addition, Tamamo’s offspring did not perform well and his bloodline would not go very far after this. In addition, he was a highly temperamental horse who picked fights with other stallions (to the point that the stable hands and other horses legit just avoided him). 2. As stated, Oguri Cap has now reached the peak, which means new rivals rise up to challenge her. First up and coming is Inari One of Ooi. If we were to break down the main Cinderellas of the series with Oguri Cap as the Cinderella from the boonies, Tamamo Cross as the Cinderella from the hood, and Super Creek as the Cinderella with the Fair godmother (Nase), Inari One is the Cinderella from the inner city. Edo is the name of the old town Tokyo, deeply ingrained with a rich history and festive culture. Naturally, she’s got a very unique accent which some friends have compared to a Boston accent. 3. The Japanese dirt leagues is a unique gray zone between national and regional races, allowing the likes of Kasamatsu dirt racers to race side by side with national grade racers. The Tokyo Daishoten is an excellent example, in which Inari One could race in a national G1 while still being a regional racer. Inari One’s win over many national grade racers granted him entry into the National Leagues, where he would become one of Oguri’s new rivals. 4. You mentioned that this must be the pinnacle of horse racing. You are absolutely correct. Oguri Cap’s rise to fame is literally the spark of the golden age of Japanese horse racing. In the several years between Symboli Rudolf’s retirement and Oguri Cap’s rise, the JRA generated about 1 trillion yen in revenue. But in Oguri’s one year in the nationals, the JRA generated 3 trillion yen in revenue. In addition, the Oguri’s compelling rags to riches story would drive a brand new generation of horse racing fans to the stands and betting booths, including many young adults and women (in a traditionally middle age male dominated world). In response to this new generation of fans, Oguri Cap became the first marketable horse plushie that you can buy even today.

UCCMaster

Oh, also to explain why Tama retired. In real life Tamamo’s health was declining, he was eating less and losing weight (eventually he’d be out on a liquid diet). He was supposed to retire after the Japan Cup but Oguri’s team basically begged to have one more race against Tama so they agreed to enter him into the Arima Kinen. But by that point Tama had already lost weight because of his loss of appetite. Despite that it was still a close finish but if Tama had been 100% like at the Autumn Tenno Sho he would have crushed Oguri convincingly.

Jk844

When you see the real race you’ll see how well they recreated it here, obviously with a lot of theatrics but Tama going all the way from the back around the outside to challenge Oguri to the end it’s crazy.
